how did u start making poems? and was u naturally like good at it or was it something you had to work on?
it’s just i’m trying to get into it but i defo need practice lmao and one of ur poems really inspired me to start
ummmm idk! i started loving poetry as a very young person & part of loving poetry has always, for me, been about making it myself. getting my hands dirty with poems. you know ?
making poetry feels good, & i’ve found that the less seriously i take it (& the more playful i am with how i construct it), the better and easier it is. it also gets a lot easier with practice, like everything!
i truly cannot speak to if i was any good at it at the start (my instincts tell me it was quite bad, which i think is an important step in the process, but i want to be kind to my fourteen year old self trying out something difficult for the first time, so i will refrain from calling it as tragic as i believe it must have been. lol).
all i know is that you develop skills wherever you put your energy, so there’s no time like the present to get started. go make some poems!!!
