One thing I’m going to need for all Christians to stop saying to people is, “God will never give you more than you can handle.”

That’s actually the furthest from the truth.

To be honest, God will put some things on your plate that seem to be too much, solely for your growth and so you can realize you need Him and His strength at all times.

For instance in 2 Corinthians 1:8 Paul said “For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life”

They literally were suffering so much from their current circumstances that they gave up on life.

But later in 2 Corinthians 6: 4-5 Paul says, “In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.”

So in essence, when things get really hard, please don’t give up! In our sufferings, we become more and more like Jesus. We learn obedience and strength when we’re put to the test. God will never leave nor forsake you.
