Still kissing her, Cassian held out the drink he was carrying to Mor. In shock, she accepted it, only to watch as Cassian now used both free hands to wrap around Nesta’s body and grope and stroke whatever parts of her he could find: her ribs, her back, her ass, even her shoulders.

Mor watched in frozen horror as Cassian, the man who once had scoffed at Nesta and laughed at her with the rest of them, shoved his tongue down her throat like there was an oasis in there and he’d been lost in the desert for weeks. Moaning into her mouth loud enough to be heard over the music, like they were in a private bedroom instead of a very public party.

She couldn’t fathom what she was seeing as Cassian’s large palms carved a slow trail up the back of Nesta’s thighs, slipping under the tiny skirt and squeezing two tight handfuls of her ass.

That made Nesta break the kiss with a surprised whimper, pulling away only an inch with a dazed look in her eyes. A string of spit still hung between her mouth and Cassian’s, and he stared down at her with a hunger that Mor had never seen from a man in her life.

He said something so lowly to her that Mor couldn’t make out the words. It almost sounded like, “Want me to get you some pants?”

Which made no sense, until Nesta flushed and replied, “Maybe, not right now. No one else has gotten to see me in this outfit yet.”

The look of devastation on his face was almost comical, like he’d been stabbed in the chest. “You wore this outfit for someone other than me?” His hands finally slipped from her ass, but they came to rest at her waist.

Nesta rolled her eyes even as she seemed to be fighting a blush. “Don’t be like that.”

“Is there someone else here you like? Who are they?”

Nesta only shook her head and finally turned back to acknowledge Mor, apparently the only one who remembered she was still here.

A favor is honestly top favorite nesta AND nessian fic, god it’s so beautifully written i have been obsessed since i first read it and it hasn’t gotten old despite me rereading. You have written nesta so compellingly and down her justice from her core traits being explored and developed to her relationships with other characters. And your Cassian is my favorite!!!! God how beautiful and real you got his dynamic with the ic down and gave it even more depth. This is a cassian we root for and want with nesta this is the cassian I cheer for and I loved the acknowledgment of him needing space to find himself on his own and it not being a angst point in nessian, nesta had her healing and growth that she will keep working on and he gets his own with her being in a healthier emotional and mental state to support him and also be on her own. Also I looooved Emerie and Gwyn in here I have such a soft spot for these girls the book gift made me freaking bawl. Love that Acheron sisters sort of finding common ground also didn’t mean nestas found sisters losing their place in her life’s. I loved that while cassian grew away from ic he also got to experience nestas friend group and them meshing well with azriel. Also the bonus Gwynriel? Always have an eye out for their fic updates. They’re such a fun dynamic I’m obsessed with how you write azriel! I could go on gushing but you did amazing work handling such sensitive topics with respect and nuance!!! I see so much of myself in nesta and your fic was so incredible I never get sick of reading

Are there any Nessian fics you’ve been obsessed with lately?

Okay so, I’m horrible when it comes to bookmarks, but I definitely have Nessian fics I’m obsessed with lately! (I’d suggest going through these authors’ entire catalogues, because I literally drop everything when any of them updates or posts something new, but I’ll try (and fail) to stick to one per author otherwise I’ll still be here tomorrow)

- @theteaqueendom’s I Could Find You, Darling, In Any Life (honorable mention for The Whole Truth, which was finished recently and had me feral).

- @wishcamper’s smoke signals. Read it, it’s the best. Bi!Cassian struggling through life, finding love and trying to figure it out. It’s amazing. (Also eagerly awaiting In the bulrushes, but in a patient way).

- @jsmelodies’ devils, where Nesta’s from the Hewn City and Cassian is a man with the concept of a plan (how we love him best), seeing her and going that’s my WIFE (mate). It’s delicious.

- @janearts’ A Court of Steel and Flame, which is an amazing ACOSF rewrite/fix-it with jaw-dropping art that you can find on tumblr. Girl really can do it all.

- @whyisaravenlike-awritingdesk’s Hold Me Like A Knife because Viking!Cassian is one of the hottest things I’ve ever read and they’re delicious together.

- @unhealthyfanobsession has me obsessed with a new wip My Kingdom Come Undone, which vibes remind me of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and it’s everything.

- @c-e-d-dreamer’s When We Howl The Moon Will Cower. Werewolf Cassian and Witch Nesta, and all I’ll say is I want to be the meat of their sandwich. I’m not kidding when I say I’m obsessed with this.

- @dustjacketmusings’ Baby, Don’t Hang Up. Nessian being dumb and ignoring feelings, is there anything better? The shenanigans and smut are like cakes I stuff my face full of every single time I read this.

- @jellybeanjellyfishblog’s A Court Of Fallen Stars. An ACOSF rewrite, with Nesta in Day, taking place 10 years after ACOWAR.

hi!! I’m a huge fan of your fics :)

I’m trying to get back into writing and I was wondering how you plot out stories? Do you start with a loose structure like 3 act or smth and fit your storyline to the beats or just use your story as the basis?

hi oomf thank you! umm plotting isn’t anything that i do super intentionally it just kind of happens, but i do think for all my fics i start with the most important or favorite scenes in mind and then build the rest of the fic around those. it’s usually one scene from the beginning one scene from the middle and one scene from the end of the story, and they’re anchor points for the rest of the fic. this applies to original work too ofc but plotting those out is way harder
