This is for everyone on tiktok saying “minho wasn’t tortured in the 3rd book why’s in the movie” but i’m not posting this there because i don’t trust people on tiktok but anyway

Minho was absolutely tortured in the 3rd book they all were. Thomas was locked in a white room for almost a month and we don’t find out what happened to everyone else for phase three of the trials but thomas says when he finds minho again that he can tell he’d been through it so yeah

I take it back maybe the differences in the scorch trials movie is because nothing in the damn book makes any sense. It makes even less sense after reading the kill order and fever code

For all we know, the major plot differences in the movies are things James Dashner couldn’t find a way to include in the books.

Two of my biggest complaints about the first maze runner movie:

1. They definitely had flashlights in the books

2. They said one (1) boy every month for 3 years. If my math is correct, that would be 36 boys. As far as i can tell, there seem to be more than 36 boys in the movie

For the record i read all the books, i’m in the process of rereading them. I’ve also seen all the movies more than once. I can probably tell you every single difference. But i understand everything they changed. Almost everything makes sense because it’s an adaptation and you can’t perfectly transcribe a book into a movie. There are things you can’t do to actors. James Dashner himself was one of the writers on the movies and he was clearly okay with how they came out. Also the first two movies came out before the fever code. My issue is that it’s such a weird oversight to literally change the amount of time the boys were in the Glade from 2 years to 3 years and specifically say that 1 boy came up a month every month for those 3 years(i know that in the book it was a bigger group but they changed that in the movies) just to have a similar amount of boys as there were in the book.

All the complaints i’ve seen about the movies, i haven’t seen anyone complain about the Grievers. In the books they’re the size of a cow and have no mouths. In the movies they’re like 10 times bigger with giant mouths. But i haven’t seen anyone complain. You know why i think that is? It’s because on some level, they understand that movie adaptations can’t be exactly the same as the books. I know they aren’t perfect but as far as adaptations go, i think they’re brilliant. They follow the spirit of the books. AND James Dashner, you know the guy who wrote the books, was a writer on the movies. If the guy who invented the universe is okay with it, why can’t we all be? I seriously think they’re some of the best movie to book adaptations i have seen.

I FINISHED THE FEVER CODE AND REALIZED THAT THE GLADERS WILL NEVER KNOW THAT THOMAS TRIED TO SAVE THEM AND THAT’S WHY HE WAS IN THE MAZE
