My office had a training session today on an AI program and like I know I’m more resistant to AI on principle than I probably should be, but it’s really so worrisome because the point of all AI is to just not think as hard. It’s like “take this text and condense it down into its basic points using simple sentences” and “take these points and make a five minute speech emphasizing integrity” and “take my notes and turn them into a professional memo.” I just don’t think it’s good!!!! Our brains are so malleable, I don’t think we should be ceding any slightly difficult task to AI. I think we need to retain these skills to we don’t get to the point where we’re all too stupid to grapple with complex ideas absent our computer dumping out ten gallons of water to generate a dumbed-down version we can understand. Like you know. And on top of that, the program also had issues during the demonstration. The speaker was like “umm, it shouldn’t look like that. Ideally, it won’t look like that when you try it.” Like why are we pushing AI so hard? It’s not to make our lives easier, it’s to make us replaceable by the machines we’re training that won’t need to be paid a living wage. Everything about AI is bad. it’s literally making us dumber and the machines smarter which doesn’t end well for us

I bought a lot of eight bratz dolls on goodwills online auction site because I am the problem and the starting bid was $50 which was really fucking annoying but I looked at the pics for the listing and saw some pen marks on some faces but I was confident in my ability to get them out and apart from that they looked pretty good, so I was like fuck it, I’m bidding. And I won because there were no other bids. So the dolls come today and not only do half of them have pretty significant marker on their faces, but more than half have had their hair cut, which is a bigger issue that I can’t do anything about short of removing all their hair and rerooting them, which would be a lot of work and money and also, I don’t really want to customize bratz dolls, I want them as they are. Am I mad that a kid chopped her bratz’s hair off? No. Am I mad goodwill sold it for $50 and I, like a fucking idiot, bought it? Yeah

I’m very close to being done with my little play theater thing I’m making. I just need to get some curtains up and I’m realizing that velvet of decent quality is kind of expensive. Especially when I don’t need that much but would still need to buy like a yard. So the plan for this weekend is to go to thrift stores and see if I can find some velvet clothes to cut up or, alternatively, maybe like a nice cushion with fabric I can use? I just want it to look opulent. Well see.

One of my coworkers circulated a draft around to me and my other coworker to review and give our thoughts on and kittens………it’s bad. Like idk what happened I’ve read drafts of his before and they were ok but this one is like. Badly written. Badly researched. Badly reasoned. It’s a mess. I started reviewing it around lunch time and didn’t finish it by the end of the day, which was about four hours later. And I’ll probably be reviewing it at least until lunch time tomorrow. Idk I do worry. I know he’s intelligent, he went to a very good law school, but this draft is bad and also, he spent like over a month working on it. I’m already stressed about my own performance I can’t be secondhand stressed about his too.

I sent back his draft with edits and now I need my other coworker to read it and back me up. But his status is away. Girl I need you to focus and clock the fuck back in so I’m not out here alone having torn the draft to shreds

I dislike Louis Vuitton because, through no fault of their own, they’re ripped off so much that the look of their signature print just reads as a bit cheap. Or like. Try hard. But! I also didn’t realize the brand was as old as it is, and found out yesterday that Audrey Hepburn carried a Louis Vuitton speedy. And while I maintain that they’re gonna need to do some kind of branding overhaul to get away from the cheap vibe they give off today, I can definitely see how the exact same bag would have been so beautiful and chic and like, Travel-y in the 50s.

There’s a bag I’ve had my eye on for a loooong time but it’s been sold out and never comes back in stock and when it does, it sells out immediately, but i kept the website page open in my browser because I just liked to look at it and a few days ago I opened the page and it had the option of adding the bag to my cart instead of saying sold out/join waitlist. So I immediately checked out and it let me, but I expected to receive an email being like hey so this bag is out of stock and we’ve canceled your order, but I got a notification that my bag shipped today!! And I refreshed the bag page after I’d checked out and it said sold out again so I literally think there was like one, maybe two, in stock and I happened to check the page at the exact right moment. I even signed up to be notified when it’s back in stock and didn’t receive an email—that’s how fast it went. Anyway, it should be delivered Thursday 😎

I set two alarms every morning and I set them for like forty five minutes before when I want to actually get up so I can snooze them for that time, but anyway, this morning my first alarm went off and I snoozed it, and then I woke up naturally and was like huh. It feels like it’s been a long time since my alarm went off and it should be going off every eight minutes after I snooze. So I check my phone and apparently it decided to update the software after my first alarm went off and I snoozed it, which canceled my other alarms. Thank god I just woke up on my own and wasn’t late to work. I picked up my phone to check the time and it was like “welcome, get started setting up your phone” or whatever the message is when it updates. Ridiculous.
