I'm Nick. You're not so average 17 year old. I sing, I dance as well. I have some problems, but don't we all? I'm taken by the most amazing person, Jeff Sterling. I love him.

” I love her too.” Thad cooed, hugging Nick close. ” I just want to get better for Curt.” he smiled, watching the kitten bound away. He kissed the top of Nick’s head as he twisted around on his lap. ” I know you can do it. I believe in you. You’re doing so amazing and I’m so ridiculously proud of you.”

Nick nodded and snuggled into Thad, not even caring that someone from outside their whole friendship could easily think they were in a relationship. "I hope I can...I really want to get better. It's just hard as fuck Thaddy." he mumbled, putting his head against his friends shoulder.

Thad giggled as he was pushed against the couch, making an umph when Nick settled in his lap. ” Oh she’s beautiful!” Thad cooed, stroking the tiny kitten’s fur. ” Cute name too.” he smiled as Sprinkles mewed. ” Good news, right!” Thad’s attention was brought back to the conversation. ” I progressed stages. I’ve gone from severe to hard on the alert scale. I don’t know if they use the same one for you but like we have soft, medium, hard and severe and when we get to soft we can apply to leave here. I’ve been stuck at severe forever but my therapist says I’ve gained enough weight and stayed out of trouble long enough to move stages.” he explained excitably.

Nick smiled and nodded. "I love her!" he said, leaning into Thad. After hearing the news, he squealed. "Thaddy!!!! That's amazing!" he said, kissing his cheek. "God I'm so proud of you.." he whispered, letting the kitten go. He turned to straddle Thad's lap. "I'm just barely at the point where I can move to Hard...one more week with no cutting and I can move down."

” They just don’t think. They get all caught up in themselves and forget. They’re not selfish but they just don’t think.” Thad squeezed Nick’s hand back. He held his hand tight as he was pulled inside. ” A kitten! You know, I used to have one when I was little. His name was smokey. I wanna see! ” he tugged excitably. ” Oh Nicko! I have good news.”

Nick sighed and nodded, leading him to the couch. He pushed Thad down and grabbed the kitten from the chair and brought her over, situating himself in Thad's lap. "Her name is Sprinkles." he said, smiling. He kissed the kittens head. "Good news! I like good news tell me!"

Thad held Nick tight against him. “I missed you too.” he whispered back. He continued to hug him tight, just soaking in the familiar scent. ” Come on, we’re not going to be upset today. We can’t go on like that.” he pulled away, taking Nick’s hand in his. ” Blaine and Sebastian will be back when they want to be but they wouldn’t want us to be miserable. They wouldn’t want to see you like that.”

Nick nodded slowly, not letting go of Thad as they hugged. His face was pressed against the boys neck, taking in the security and familiarity of his best friend. He took Thad's hand in his and squeezed it. "If they didn't want to see me like this, then they wouldn't have left." he said, biting his lip. He pulled Thad inside. "Jeff's at therapy for the next few hours. We got a kitten!"

Thad was feeling rather good at the moment, of course he still had his issues but he had woken up in as good a mood as he could achieve. He’d managed to force down some breakfast earlier and he didn’t feel too bad about himself. Now as he walked down the road towards his best friends house, he could feel the excitement brimming inside him. He hadn’t spoken to his best friend in a while and he couldn’t wait to see him again. He knocked enthusiastically on the door, waiting for the door to be opened.

Nick had been staying inside with Jeff most of the time, only leaving for therapy and to go see if Blaine and Sebastian had come back. Each time he found they weren't there, his heart sank and another piece of him broke off. It wouldn't be long until he completely lost it, leaving Jeff and Thad to put him back together. When he heard the knock, he sprinted to the door, quickly opening it and jumping onto Thad, wrapping himself around the boy tightly. "I miss you." he whispered against his neck.

Nick’s eyes widened. “A KITTEN!” he exclaimed, scooping the small animal into his arms. “Aw Jeffy I love her!” he said, smiling as she purred. “She’s perfect!”

Jeff chuckled and wrapped his arms around Nick’s waist, chin leaning against his shoulder. “I knew you would.” he said proudly, blowing air into Nick’s ear. “I’m sorry I haven’t been spending as much time with you as I should, princess.”

Nick shrugged. "It's okay." he whispered, setting the kitten down to roam around the room. "I just...don't want to lose you...l-like I did Blaine and Sebastian." he said, biting his lip. He curled up into Jeff and sighed. "I love you so much, Jeffy."

Jeff bit his lip, nuzzling his nose in Nick’s hair. “They’ll be back, babe.” he said and kissed Nick’s jaw before sitting up straight again. “Look what I got us!” he said happily and removed the blanket to reveal a small, black and white kitten curled up in his lap. “Her name is Sprinkles. Yes, I named her myself.”

Jeff immediately smiled when he saw Nick, a thin blanket covering his lap. “Hey beautiful.” he said, pressing a kiss to his husband’s lips. “How’ve you been today?” he asked, that small smile still on his lips, as he leaned his head onto Nick’s shoulder.

Nick smiled and kissed back. "I'm good. Just tired...still kind of upset about Blaine and Sebastian leaving.." he said, shrugging. He looked at Jeff and laughed. "So what'd you want, baby? Besides seeing your husband?" he asked, putting a hand around jeffs waist.

Nick smiled at his husbands message online. He'd come home from therapy and had immediately crashed. He was so tired and the past few weeks had been hard. He slowly climbed out of bed, bringing the blanket with him wrapped up like a cape. "Jeffy!!" he called out smiling when he saw him on the couch. He jumped next to him and kissed his cheek.
