Salutations! You may call me Captain. Welcome to my side-blog, focused specifically on my experiences as both shark-kin and shark-hearted.

More specifically, I am a Sicklefin Lemon Shark (Negaprion acutidens) and a blåhaj (IKEA shark plush) as well.

There's just something about swimming in a pool, like mmmm water.

One of my greatest wishes in life is to bring someone the same level of comfort that my own blåhaj does.

Another wish is to have an unlimited supply of fish-shaped crackers /j.

Gill shifts are so funky when you’re stationary because you can pretty much feel them pumping water (air?) through.

Upon further research, I think I might be a Sicklefin Lemon Shark (N. acutidens) rather than N. brevirostris. The predominantly bony fish diet and their overall behaviour suits me a lot better than that of N. brevirostris.

Had a fantastic time swimming today! I don’t often get the chance to, and this time round I was especially shift-y. Swimming in the shark-typical, side-to-side motion feels amazing. (Though I’m now questioning a potential crocodilian kintype now, since I noticed I often swim similarly to them. I also had a lot of fun jump-scaring the people with me by submerging all but my face in the murky water.)

I was also given the chance to jump in from a very tall boat, which satisfied both my bird therian needs for flight and aspects of my Luca-self.

Waterproof boots and wet grass combo creates little splishy-splashies when I move! I dunno why, but it makes me feel so shark! /pos

Finally realised I get two types of phantom shark tail — one is your typical lemon shark tail, while the other is a blåhaj tail that is a lot harder to move around and very floppy.

I’m not quite sure what this means, but I shall be investigating further.

There is a possibility my Natural History Museum and/or ghost kintypes are causing this, because I do occasionally feel like a taxidermy bird because of them.
