I'm not a huge history buff, but checking out the Dead Sea Scrolls was undeniably awesome.

The Baha'i Gardens in Haifa are actually out-of-this-world beautiful! I learned so much about the Baha'i religion today, which is the newest monotheistic in the world (fun-fact.)

Haifa is SO gorgeous! The North has a very different feel that Tel Aviv or the places we've visited in the South. Besides being greener and more familiar (for an East Coast girl) in terms of climate and scenery, it's also a little more laid back that the hip TA scene.

An amazing rooftop view look south over Jaffa! We came back to this roof for dinner a few days later and watching the sun set from here was even more amazing!

This photo at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem really stood out to me. Though seemingly a casual photo of soldiers eating lunch, it's actually a carefully staged replica of The Last Supper. The half eaten apple and bullet holes in the wall of the background betray the mortality of the scene.

Some friends and I have made a tradition out of attending gallery openings on Thursday nights. You can learn a lot about national sentiments from the art of the people.
