Are demons born demons or humans that died and turn into demons or is it just a mix of both?

(And also Julie is best girl)

Oh! Thats simple, think of demons as just another race. Demons are born demons. While demons can mingle with other races too and create hybrids, you cant turn a human born human into a demon

Basically you cant change a person's natural race, human or mythic because the only kind that can turn you from a human are vampires and usually only humans get turned into vampires. Usually. Normally--

Hello Nomie! 🥰 first of all I’m happy to know that you have returned especially with more of your drawings and Au! I most say that you’re drawing so amazing and breathtaking as always 🩷

Also I’m just curious with the lores you’re publishing but, tell me is Wally literally a royal vampire? Sorry for the question 😅 is just that I also has been absent from Tumblr since I got busy in life like everyone would get busy.

So Wally is like a Vampire Prince? or Is the King of Vampire? Vamais Country?

Second, Ill make it clearer onna post where i talk about vampires in general BUT in short yeah, technically he is a Vampire King, but like the title itself is isnt related to Wally having royal blood. Its more like a "king cobra" situation, where there are few vampire kings out there and theyre called vampire kings because theyre the ones with the more potent blood that can easily turn anybody into a vampire. Basically, Vampire kings are the former citizens of the Vamais Empire who became vampires, royal or not

Although Wally is an actual prince from that empire tho. Just wanted to clear up how the title Vampire King is used in this AU's context

So Sally is like an alien in a literal sense, she is a star afterall so she is beyond the sky amd such. She landed on earth when she was young, like think very small and harmless, and was found by some people. Immediately gets taken into Ambrol city and revered as a god. As Sal grew older, her flames grew as well and at some point she could not control it so she accidentally burned her hometown down to the ground. Bummer.

Okay so first of all, Julie is so pretty (your art is gorgeous), second of all, you said you can tell how powerful Demons are based on the markings n their skin? Idk if I’m just blind, but I can’t see any on Julie, is she not very powerful?

On a final note, I really liked how Julie looked in this piece you did (i’d feel silly if it turned out this wasn’t Julie & I missed something, lmao). After her redesign, would she still wear something like this dress?

To answer your question, demons power grows with each successful contract they make, and every successful contract earns like a tally mark on the demon's (where the mark appears and how it may look will be different for every demon, although demons from thame family will have similar marking). Julie has never once finished any, she is bound by one, but shes never finished it and so shes like... really weak by demon standards.

Okioki so in this AU, Mythic and Man used to be at odds with one another before they formed an alliance but it wasnt always the case even before then.

Demons have always been opportunists so theyd frequently offer their service to humans and even mythics too at times. As time passed, contracts became a demon's life and blood. Its deeply ingrained to their culture, from their coming of age, to their social standing, to their literal power. It became law that demons are required to accomplish ongoing contracts on the surface, otherwise they would be forbidden to return to their home in the underworld. Albeit there are some leniency for demons who have long term contracts, their travel between the two worlds are heavily limited. Demons who have met a certain number of successful deals is given special privilages like being able to access both worlds freely with none of the paperwork required. Literally free travel to hell and back. You can actually tell how many successful deals a demon has made by the markings on their skin.

So yeah, Vampires are special because theyre actually manmade.

Vampires where created centuries ago, long before Human and Mythic agreed to live together peacefully. There were still fights between the two and Humanity was on the losing end. It was due to this that led to some royal family trying to play god and turn themselves into a mythic only for it to cause disaster and destruction.

Fun fact, the term vampire stems from their place of origin, Vamais. While not all vampires come from there, there are few that still exist who once lived in Vamais. You can easily tell if a vampire was once a Vami from their unique facial features (no visible nose and facial hair, not even eyebrows) and striking blue hair.

I owe you guys an apology for letting you all wait for so long only to receive silence. It may not be a big deal for some, but I believe I should at least give an explanation. I haven't been drawing as much welcome home as I used to because as time went on it started feeling more like a chore to draw. It probably didn't help that I was going through a major burnout not long ago and it's been reoccurring every now and then. It got bad enough that at times the quality of my art would just get lower the more I push myself. Then other things came to light that I had to put to priority and eventually I just kept pushing this Hunter vs Hunted AU so far back that it's almost abandoned for long periods of time.

While I still love Welcome Home and would want to keep drawing every now and then, I'm not confident that I can be consistent, much less do a series with the state that I am right now.

So what happens next? I'm not entirely sure. I won't say that the AU is discontinued only that it won't be in comic format anymore. It's a huge downgrade ik but it's for the best if I wanna keep drawing more WH art without the risk of ruining the quality.

I can't thank you enough for the people who stuck around, when all I've given for the most part is silence and worry. I hope to make it up to you all

Rough landing

A little advice ive found really helpful when making comics is to have some prop objects drawn and saved with a transparent background in advance, so then you can reuse them for different pages with subtle edits. Saves both time and energy

So I have several questions about the HvsH au. (Sorry I'm frequently asking stuff but I'm genuinely interested in it)

Does society in the HvsH universe have a form of hierarchy? In terms of nobility, clerics, politicians,... .If so where is the Pillar family placed?

Also you mentioned earlier that Howdy was a hybrid of a human and a mythic. Is it from a specific mythic or just a generation mixing of different human-mythic relations?

Also I'm toying with an idea for an OC in this au. But from a different organization. Regarding sages... . I hope that's okay.

Hmmm, it's hard to say. I will say Hunter's Association has political power as like a multinational organization that has its grasp across different countries. And by extension since the Pillars has long since been a service dog to H.A. they have some of that influence among the masses. I'd say they have the connections but in general they have like a celebrity social standing to the public.

And it's more of a generational mixing than anything specific.

Also I don't mind! I've been having thoughts of like treating some witches as healers so like there's a coven that acts as a hospital in a sense but yeah, all of this is just to say I think that idea aligns with my thoughts for this au

what exactly is your h&h au about?

It all started with Vampire Wally and then it evolved to some of the other characters being different kinds of mythical creatures

It's as the name says, like the fight between mythical and non mythical creatures. Like the hunt for vampires specifically this time

There's a reason why vampires are sorta ousted as the bad apple among mythics where even mythics deem them cursed
