Lestat and Armand 🖤🤍
Sorry for my absence, i was practicing a new art style and on top of it all my mother got cancer, so a lot has happened to me, but I'm back, I need some comfort right now.
This look like an metal álbum cover lol
"When you found me under Les Innocents," Armand said, "you wanted to bathe me with perfume and dress me in velvet with great embroidered sleeves."
"Yes," I said, "and comb your hair, your beautiful russet hair."
Thank you all for always rb my art with the most sweet (and sometimes funny) hashtags, like seriously, it always makes my day, and sorry for my lack of art, this month I'll try to create paintings with more frequency, love all of you 🥺❤
Armand and his little weird experiments (baby girl is just curious)
“And against the far wall, a backdrop of satin and filigree, I saw, out of the corner of my eye, like something imagined, Armand. Armand. If there had been a summons, I never heard it. If there was a greeting, I didn't sense it now. He was merely looking at me, a radiant creature in jewels and scalloped lace. And it was Cinderella revealed at the ball, this vision, Sleeping Beauty opening her eyes under a mesh of cobwebs and wiping them all away with one sweep of her warm hand. The sheer pitch of incarnate beauty made me gasp. Yes, perfect mortal raiment, and yet he seemed all the more supernatural, his face too dazzling, his dark eyes fathomless and just for a split second glinting as if they were windows to the fires of hell. And when his voice came it was low and almost teasing, forcing me to concentrate to hear it: All night you've been searching for me, he said, and here I am, waiting for you. I have been waiting for you all along. I think I sensed even then, as I stood unable to look away, that never in my years of wandering this earth would I ever have such a rich revelation of the true horror that we are. Heartbreakingly innocent he seemed in the midst of the crowd. Yet I saw crypts when I looked at him, and I heard the beat of the kettledrums. I saw torchlit fields where I had never been, heard vague incantations, felt the heat of raging fires on my face. And they didn't come out of him, these visions. Rather I drew them out on my own. Yet never had Nicolas, mortal or immortal, been so alluring. Never had Gabrielle held me so in thrall. Dear God, this is love. This is desire.” ~ Lestat, TVL
Following up on this post, here's a list of some lovely and talented artists that are interested in taking commissions for the Vampire Chronicles book fandom! Some have their flat rates posted already, others you might have to DM first and describe what you want to get a price. ✨🦇

Let's have a very normal and a safe piano practice without casualities with lestat?
Book lestat, book Louis and book Armand Hands, in this order.
lestat always has the kindest most empathetic takes on Armand which is wild considering their relationship 😭 like lestat says this immediately after beating armands ass in tvl bcus he tried to take advantage of him lmao
Another reason these two are so compelling, whether you ship them or not. He's got such weird generosity of spirit towards him, even as he's often incredibly bitchy about him. And Armand, for his own part, deeply loves AND resents Lestat and has been known to express that inner conflict by chucking him off a roof...
I was about to say, "there's just no other pairing (however you want to take that term) like it in TVC, and then I kind of paused and took in the sheer push and pull and "I'm saying a lot of nasty shit yet it doesn't match my actual behaviours in total" of Marius and Mael over the years, and... hmmm. Just rotating all of these people and their relationships in my brain forever.
Can I just say quickly for the millionth time that the evolution of Armand's relationship with Lestat and his perception of him is fascinating to me?
There's so much going on in this bit from TVA; after Armand has just seen Lestat return from his journey with Memnoch, one-eyed and traumatized:
As I [Armand] sank down that morning into my own resting place, secure in clean modern darkness, I cried and cried like a child on account of the sight of him. Oh, why had I come to his aid? Why must I see him brought low like this when it had taken so many painful decades to cement my love for him forever?
Once before, a hundred years ago, he'd come stumbling into the Theatre des Vampires on the trail of his renegade fledglings, sweet gentle Louis and the doomed child, and I hadn't pitied him then, his skin scored with scars from Claudia's foolish and clumsy attempt to kill him.
Loved him then, yes, I had, but this had been a bodily disaster which his evil blood would heal, and I knew from our old lore that in the healing he would gain even greater strength than serene time itself would have given him.
And Armand knew back during the trial era that no matter what he did to Lestat, Lestat would recover and be stronger for it—it just took a while for him to develop a love for Lestat that was also protective and tender instead of merely obsessive and codependent.
“[...] so many painful decades to cement my love for him forever”
The vampires got a cat PART 3/3 😺🦇
@monstersinthecosmos and I were talking and she dug up this exchange Anne had with someone on Fanpop back in the day, concerning vampires' love and sexuality. There were quite a few fascinating tidbits but these are my favorites:
I see them [vampires] as transcending matters of gender or age. Lestat loves Louis. Louis loves Claudia. Armand loves Lestat. Lestat loves Gabrielle. There is no distinct difference in the quality of any of these loves. This has also been described as polymorphous sensuality.
"--- Armand is desperately in love with Lestat but it has nothing to do with sex. Armand feels Marius failed him and Marius feels Armand failed him, and that part has nothing to do with sex. Marius and Pandora, that is a love affair, but again sex has nothing to do with it. So they are all capable of loving people of their own gender and the other gender; gender doesn't matter. It's the essence. Lestat loves David Talbot as a lover, a friend, a mentor, a father, etc. --- It goes on like that. The act of dominating and drinking blood can happen between any two characters regardless of gender. They cannot be pinned down. They see all life as potentially beautiful and all forms of love as rewarding."
X
I'm verklempt at the fact Anne mentioned Armand and Lestat in the same vein as Armand and Marius and Marius and Pandora, but also I love how much she emphasizes that they can cannot be pinned down and all that forms of love are rewarding!
It's just such a revolutionary way of thinking especially when you consider that she was a woman born in the 1940s in the American South. She may have missed the beat on some things but on others, she was right on the fucking money.
I wish i could reply y'all's tags in my posts, seriously, they're just amazing? I'm always happy to read it and some of you are really funny and sweet, thank you all so much for letting me know your thoughts, and to see your reactions to my stuff, aaaaa it's just incredible it inspires me to make more art ❤️
