Wayward's Tall Pines Academy occupants
10 little sailors
Ten little sailors were drinking wine, one coughed up some blood and then there were nine.
Nine little sailors tried to rescue a mate, one drowned in the sea and then there were eight.
Eight little sailors talked about Heaven, one fell into a hole and then there were seven.
Seven little sailors were cleaning candlesticks, one set himself on fire and then there were six.
Six little sailors tried to stay alive, one ran into a knife and then there were five.
Five little sailors felt a little sore, one ingested poison and then there were four.
Four little sailors said “What will be will be”, one walked out into nothingness and then there were three.
Three little sailors were eating a shoe, one died of scurvy and then there were two.
Two little sailors ran to grab a gun, one charged a giant bear and then there was one.
One little sailor sat under the sun. He tried to challenge the bear…
And then there were none.

MY FAVORITE WOODSTOCK PERFORMANCES 🎸☮️ → Joan Baez. Performed Saturday morning, August 16, 1969 / 1:30–2:15 am
At 1:30 am, John Morris announced “the fabulous lady,” Joan Baez, to the audience. She walked out to a single microphone, stood in the spotlight, [and] commented on how it seemed as though hers would be a sunrise performance (not quite.) She was the closing act on Woodstock’s first day of music, and her performance was a fitting ending to a day of folk & traditional music. Setlist: Oh Happy Day The Last Thing on My Mind I Shall Be Released Joe Hill Sweet Sir Galahad Hickory Wind Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man I Live One Day at a Time Take Me Back to the Sweet Sunny South Warm and Tender Love Swing Low, Sweet Chariot We Shall Overcome
thinking about what would happen next in Wayward. Like I imagine Leila graduates Tall Pines and goes to live with Alex and Laura. I imagine Rabbit running the school and Rory being stuck there, counting down the days until he can go find Abbie. I imagine Laura slowly getting deeper into the cult like Evelyn, becoming the Archetypal mother of the town, Leila finding some sick comfort in her. Everyone becoming more isolated from the outside world. Alex slowly losing his mind as he fails to stand up and do what he knows is right by him and his son and all the kids in town because he can’t bear to lose the validation the “nuclear family” he built with his wife gives him. I imagine Alex runs the police station, following Laura’s every word because he’s always been her bitch. I imagine their son grows up to have issues with boundaries, something Alex tries to bring up but fails to enforce. Their son won’t grow up to be happy.
I imagine Abbie returns one day, maybe she reconnected with Claire or maybe she didn’t. But she has Toast who’s happy and healthy, and she wants to burn the place to the ground.
I kind of see the town becoming split in two- on the one side, the Academy continuing the way it did under Rabbit and Duck- they never knew any different, and are separate to other graduates who stayed in town. Evelyn chose them to stay knowing they would likely not fare well even in the secluded world of the town, and they need rigid structure to continue going.
Then Evelyn becoming a cult leader gathering the less orhtodox members, as they all collectively bring up the child, with Alex remaining a silent spectator- since he can't leave, now having 3 separate deaths connected to him in Tall Pines that would follow him wherever he goes. The Chief of Police is so deep in he probably wont be replaced anytime soon, and the Pinerosa company has a much further reach which is hinted multiple times, so they may want to put someone else in charge entirely who left the Academy (maybe the councillor who is also on the board of the company and whose guardian's house the trip ended up in as they were trying to escape?).
Knowing Laura like Evelyn is a killer, who also mislead and gaslit Alex so many times, there is potential for the cult to go wrong again at some point in future.
At any rate, the future is bleak for anyone who stayed behind.

me: fanfic is a low-stakes hobby, i don't have to research anything outside of the show
me also: *spends four hours digging around researching one tiny detail that'll only be used for one line and probably end up being deleted anyway*
