Spamtenna is super duper cool and all but the real appeal of Tenna's character (to me) is his weird 'parasocial' relationship with the Dreemurrs, and how that lends itself to the ship. (And, I say this as somebody who enjoys Spamtenna!)
I like Tenna. I like how he's an object who's been with his family for so long and was always loved so much... But was it really him being loved? Was it Tenna? Or was it just what he, as an object, could do for the lightners he lived with? Maybe this was something he could forget about for awhile. Maybe he could even allow himself to see himself as an extension of the family.
But what happens when your family doesn't watch TV anymore? What happens when they turn you off, and forget about you? What happens when you can't even blame them, because realistically, you're not family. TVs are objects made to be used, until they've served their purpose, or inevitably, break. You throw objects out when they break, because they aren't people, are they?
You use them up.
What's the point in having something that can no longer serve it's original purpose?
But how could he have known something like this would happen? He was treated differently from the others. He was their background noise. He was their light. He was a source of comfort during the bad times, but in doing that, he's become a reminder of that trauma. As an object, his place in the Dreemurr's household could never really be secure, (as a TV, especially. Those things are constantly changing) and this is something he's been trying to avoid for a LONNNGG time now; it's why his partnership with Spamton existed in the first place.
See, Spamtenna is a great ship. It exists and takes place due to a mutual desperation between the pair. It breaks my heart whenever I see people not interacting with the game outside of the ship. While, of course, people can do whatever they'd like, much of the appeal of Spamtenna comes from the wider narrative, and how said narrative brings these characters together- and how it tears them apart.
