Today I saw on tv that waves are not caused by the movements of the sea, but rather the wind rushing above it, causing ripples on the surface that radiate below and form the wave. Tonight, during a breakdown, all I could think of was that I was the ocean, the wind was normal everyday happenings, the surface layer of the sea was my depression and the ripples, or waves were my mood fluctuations. Every day events, such as work, cooking dinner, going to bed... these were rushing up against the surface of my depression causing a ripple within me that would bellow out of control untill a wave of unessesary despair would build until it reached out into the sky of my life as far as it could go all to come crashing down back inside me until I couldnt find the surface, until I couldnt breathe, until I began to drown. Then he reached out and I felt his hand against the skin of my back and the foamy, desperate leftovers of my sadness lapped up onto the shore and sunk back into my sea. Now a wide, blue, calm ocean.
