Clarke and Ben's dad aren't together anymore, so Clarke essentially raises Ben alone, along with some help from his family.

Clarke is honestly just a mess of anxiety who's trying to figure out how to raise a fucking kid. He does a great job of acting like he has it all together and knows exactly what he's doing- but he feels like everyone forgets that he's only 21, and he still wants to be a kid too.

his ‘fatherly-ness’ can also be seen as his sort of need to always want to/need to be in control, and know what’s going on.
