Go ahead and ask me a question, reader. As long as you're not a rat. I don't like rats at the best of times. ((This is an independent RP blog. I will RP with anyone. I do not own Coraline, I am just a huge fan))

"Lets Start from Scratch!"||Open RP

  A lithe black cat slinks from the bushes at the boy’s feet, turning his wide-eyed face upwards and giving a quiet meow. After clearing his feline throat, he continues in a deep voice, “Hello, old friend. It’s been a while.”

The boy jumps up holding his hands above his big, round head looking as startled as ever. "C-Cat? Y-you scared the…slugs out of me!" he chuckles

The cat returns the laugh warmly, cleaning his face with a paw. 

"Humans can be so jumpy… but I suppose I’ve missed you despite that."

Wybie places his hand between the cats ears and ruffles its fur.  "I sure missed y-you and your…errr..shenanigans too, c-cat!" he says with a dorky smile. “So got a-any news? Plans maybe?”

Cat arches up into his companion's touch, sighing contentedly. "Plans are your job, my friend. As for news... it's been almost too quiet. I suppose we should be thankful, but I'm more suspicious than thankful."

A messy haired champ jumps up from a clump of bushes, covered in mud from head to toe, his face full of excitement and wonders. He shakes off the mud, takes off his skeleton gloves and looks at the misty sky above him. What a day. If only he had someone to share his adventures and stories with…

" What a mangy little cat, where's your keeper? You look like you hadn't eaten in days.."

"Who are you calling mangy?" Cat tilted his head, bright eyes narrowed and tail twitching. "And more to the point, who are you?"

Oh- there you are. You've appeared yet again. What am I going to do with you, silly cat?

Cat tilted his head, blinking wide eyes up at Coraline in a feign of innocence, "Keep me around, I suppose. I was here first, after all."

Hello, hello. How are all of you?

I know my last hunting trip was long... I went on an extended trip to visit a certain floating cousin of mine in the men's bathroom of a radio station. 

I did bring a present for my followers, though.

There hasn't been a sign of rats in weeks.

This is worrying. Very worrying.

"On your wanderings have you happened to spot a red moleskin journal?" Quill asked the cat. "I can't believe I actually managed to miss place it. I don't feel right without it."

Cat groomed one black paw idly, "I don't recall seeing it, but I can help you look, if you'd like. I know these woods better than most any other creature you're likely to meet, and definitely better than the nice ones. THe children of this area are only human, after all, and therefore can't be expected to know as much as a Cat," he looked at her, as if expecting her sympathy on the subject, and then continued, "Besides, it's not exactly safe around these parts. Definitely not safe without an escort of some kind."

"My friends call me Quill." She told the cat. "But I haven't seen them in a while." The girl looked around. "If you have the time, I wonder if you could help me find something."

Cat looked around, as if searching for something better to do. His ears flicked.

"Hello, Quill. Well... it seems that there are no rats in the vicinity, and so I suppose I could be able to assist, depending, of course, on what it is you seek."

She was peering through the hole in the wood that covered the old well. Her short black hair hung loose around her head. She heard a noise behind her and stood up quickly, turning around, startled. She clutched a small clock that hung from a chain around her neck. "Hello." She tilted her head to the side. "Sorry, can you tell me where I am?"

Cat swished his tail elegantly, curling it into the shape of a question mark.

"You're at the old well," he said, "Ashland, Oregon. Who are you? And what, praytell, has brought you here?"

are you friends with some girl named coraline?

Cat nodded, "Yes, I suppose friend would be the correct word."

cat, i have a question for you

"Yes?"

Cat stretched and looked up warily at the young human.

"Of course, dear Cat! Come to the cottage in Salem anytime, and I shall return thy favor!" She mounts her broomstick, the rat in one hand. "For now I bid thee good night, Cat."

"Farewell, Sarah!" the Cat replies, watching the witch as she flies away.

Sarah shrieks in delight. "Oh, it's lovely!" She picks up the rat excitedly and admires it, hopping up and down. "What a wonderful lucky rat tail this shall make! Dear, sweet Cat!" She bends down and kisses the top of his head with a loud smack. "Now what can I do for thee in return? A witch deals in fair exchange."

Cat smiles despite himself, "Perhaps I can just keep that favor, in case I am of need of it at a later time, dear Sarah?"

"Oh, I see," Sarah says, a little disappointed but still giddy to be talking with the cat. "I wouldst have liked thee as my familiar, but catching rats is a noble profession. Perhaps thou canst fetch me a new lucky rat tail."

Cat smiled slightly, "Perhaps!," he tilted his head, listening intently for the telltale sound of tiny paws over dry leaves. Funnily enough, he head it. He pounced upon a rat, delivering a neat bite to the back of it's neck and depositing it at the witch's feet. He looked quite proud of himself.
