One of Netflix's most popular series of all time is also, paradoxically, its weakest, bizarrely enough.
There's a huge dissonance in this particular context because, while Wednesday SEEMS beloved by the general public, upon closer inspection, it seems like the series is one of the worst-conceived on Netflix.
Especially when it comes to the writing and subplots.
One of the few positive points that all opinions have in common is that the cast is excellent, but the problem lies with the rest, namely the showrunners and those who work in the writing room.
On YouTube, you're more likely to find broad negative reviews of the series than the generally vague positive ones.
I haven't seen a situation like this since Twilight.
There's a reason Wednesday is remembered for more or less trivial things, like the Wednesday Addams quotes posted on Instagram or the pretentious dark goth aesthetic.
At most, as I wrote above, the series is loved for its actors, but the rest... sigh.
For those of us who are still not quite over the past tense of know.
I finally decided to publish the narrative playlist I made inspired by this amazing fic, something I found myself updating every time retrieveire posted a new chapter.
The songs follow the chapters, the shifts in perspective, and the gradual way their worlds start to overlap.
If anyone ever feels like listening while reading or revisiting it, here’s the playlist:
And just to say thank you to retrieveire for writing something so beautiful and memorable.
