Para Sa 'Yo by The Happiest is influenced by Mike d' Abo and Tony Macaulay's song Build Me Up Buttercup, which later released by The Foundations in 1968. The beat of the song is intended to make it sound like Build Me Up Buttercup, but when it finally played and recorded in a studio, it didn't sound like it, because of the drum intro, purposely made to reverse the time signature. The guitars progressed into some kind of an angry slow emo/ska. So the final product didn't sound like The Foundations song. It was a breakup song. A danceable happy song but with sad lyrics--that goes along with the minor chords on chorus to make it sadder, and put an emotional kick in it.And oh, the vocals in chorus were overdubbed.
