MY WEAKNESS
The damp earth's organic smell rose in waves, like a miasma that hit so straightforwardly. It was strong but pleasant, at least to Blake, who crossed a leg over a root. It was massive in size and called for a bit of effort. Before crossing the other leg and hopping down, Blake brought her hands together to rub off bits of wood that stuck to her skin and glanced up at the sky whilst doing so.
The tree was magnificent, to be put in simple words. The wood was luxiurous in color, a darkened mahogany that served as perhaps the perfect contrast to the vivid red leaves above. Every so often some leaves whirled to the ground at a sensually slow pace. The air was slight stuffy, but that was most likely from the morning's rain. But the scenery, to Blake Belladonna, was exemplary.
So it was natural for the girl who sat on an exposed root in a forest full of both beauty and danger to grasp the Canon brand camera and take a picture of it(it was a talent of hers, to take photos. Photography was her life—you can ask her roommates!).
Focusing the lens to get a clear cut image, Blake aimed the camera up at the tree. The screech of an animal shot off in the far distance, but it was typical in nature and therefore Blake ignored it. The closer ones that followed soon after were ignored too. It was just nature(or so she assumed).

@rubyredcyclops liked this post for a starter
everything post the fall of beacon was in short, horrible. grimm roared ferociously as a declaration of their new territory and of war against what remained of hunters and huntresses, both apprentice and veteran. everyone had been divided. even team rwby, who were all inseparable. ruby, as far as blake knew, left for patch in the aftermath of cinder's invasion. weiss was taken away to atlas. yang, well. . .
some time had rolled around since then, and the situation in vale died down in the news. it was no longer a red alert but an often reminder from miss lavender of the grim situation in vale. eventually vale became a wasteland, and a memory. hostile terrain marked by the aftermath of cinder's infiltration, fiery destruction left in her wake.
blake stayed in vale, first and foremost reason being that the white fang were under adam (that she knew so well) and that adam was now under cinder (that she had no clue til it clicked later on). blake knew adam, hell she even knew the white fang from inside out! so it was a no-brainer to her that she needed to take them down!
the faunus hopped over an ursa and landed, one knee below her against the earth and the other bent, arms outstretched and within them gamboul shroud. once she heard the sickening plop of the ursa's head to the ground, she straightened up to the see the results of her brawl with the grimm creature. not even moments later did snarls erupt and three more came from the red bushes of forever falls. blake leapt back, unsure of what to do now. one ursa was enough, and while it didn't tire her out yet, blake was unsure how to handle a trio. in fact, the ursas' incessant howlings forced blake to contemplate fleeing.
. . . and the fact that blake heard howling behind her too did not help at all.

“thank you for agreeing to help. my son is in a difficult position.”
an older belladonna had her hands down on the shoulders of her son—her actual son. a faunus like her, who had the same eyes of a golden shade, the same skin. the bigger difference is in their expressions, the experience in belladonna and the innocence in her child.
“i'm thankful, i really am. even if i know that we have our differences, i know you're not horrible. and it's only going to last as long as this mission does—they called up the whole team, so i can't really just least him here. i'll pay you back for taking care of him, i promise."
