I HAD SOMEONE TO SEND EGGPLANT EMOJIS TO ONCE
ragsandrocks:
Falia looked at the image; girlish, bubbling laughter spilled unabashedly from her lips. “I didn’t have much of anything,” she admitted, no longer able to be hurt by the echoes of those memories and just drunk enough to divulge them. “I was like Harry Potter, living in a little room under the stairs.”
Salvation had come for her, too; an influential, charismatic man who’d CHOSEN HER, had offered her revenge and promised her the world. And though he was twenty years her senior, he was devastatingly handsome. Not only that, but he’d shown her so much, had made her feel things she’d not known were possible…
And apparently he’d been as much of a little shit as anyone. She wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Falia’s brows furrowed in confusion and unhappiness with this revelation. “I guess brothers can be as awful as sisters,” she murmured finally, lifting the entire bottle to her lips and taking a swig. Trying to return the conversation to its previous levity, she retrieved her own phone with a dainty white hand. “I didn’t keep pictures of anything but the family dog, but I might be able to find one of him. Or my awkward high school self…”
Oh he had said something wrong. He wasn’t certain what it was, but the mood of the conversation had tanked, and she looked even sadder now. But she was bright and less socially awkward than he was, and she managed to turn it back around, and Aeron let out a sigh of relief, stirring the potatoes as they slowly began to heat.
“Oh, I want to see little awkward Falia Flowers. Get a sneak peek as to what my little neices and nephews are going to look like as teenagers.” He said with a little grin.
“(about not knowing where things are going on a TV show) I think it’s exciting, it’s just like life, we don’t know what’s just around the corner.”
Reblog with your character smiling

His answer was as she expected, and though her face didn’t fall–the girl was practiced in disappointment–a slight sadness misted her eyes, even as she smiled in agreement. “It’s just that. And the people ruling it are much the same.” She laughed, rolling onto her side to nuzzle his cheek. “He bypasses red and goes straight to purple when he’s angry. How did you know?”
As much as she wanted to throw her arms around him, to beg him to take her along when he left this place, Falia was only barely able to resist. “Sharing a king’s bed would be a step up from what I’m used to…” her voice was coy, silken. I wouldn’t take up much room, she wanted to say, I’d warm your bed and fetch your meals, I’m not afraid of work or storms or hunger. I could bear your children…
I could love you, she wanted to say, but instead Falia Flowers just smiled, silently brushing his fingers with her petal-pink lips.
Euron gave a small laugh. “Making people angry is a hobby of mine, I am well practiced in observing angry people.” he said, letting a casual arm drape over her. Her skin felt so warm, almost hot, against his cool skin. She was flushed and tousled, but she still looked flawless, all coral lips and pink splashes on her pale skin.
She was young, so very young, he thought. Anger wasn’t the only thing he inspired in people. Fear was another. Desperation. But she didn’t have any of those in her eyes, and for a moment, he could see his brother Urri in her eyes, Urri who he had conditioned to do anything for him. He had been the runt of the family- Aeron may have been younger than him, but Aeron didn’t require quite as much protection, he wasn’t quite as sensitive- and Euron was a good amount older than him. Bigger. Stronger. A protector when no one else would. Someone to give him attention when his brothers were louder or more interesting and demanded all of Father’s attention. All Euron had to do was tell him that he was special...
“I’ve never seen a girl as pretty as you are right now... glowing, well fucked and beautiful.”
ragsandrocks:
Falia pursed her lips; though she said nothing else her expression alone reflected her sympathy–or perhaps it was empathy, she was unpracticed at distilling her emotions.
“I’m fine,” she crossed her arms over her chest, not so much protective as self-soothing, as if by hugging herself she could make everything better. It didn’t work, there was no warmth to it, so quickly she dropped her arms back to her side. “I just…I just imagined my sisters getting ahold of my phone…private things I’d sent to my boyfriend…”
A smile lifted her mouth slightly, and still clutching the wine bottle she followed him back into the kitchen. “I’ll bring some out, if you don’t mind. Euron seemed to like them.”
“Whatever you want to do.” Aeron said, but he couldn’t help smiling, digging the tupperware of mashed potatoes out of the fridge, dumping it into a saucepan with a little milk.
“I agree with you, though, I’m really rather lucky that I didn’t have a cell phone as a kid. The closest thing I had was... hang on, let me see if I can find a picture of it. Bear in mind, I was a teenager in like 1995, and this was so very cool then.” he said, tapping his phone for a moment before turning the screen to her. “Yeah, I had one of these. In my room. I was quite cool.” he said with a smile. “But that’s not to say I didn’t have other things that my brothers could read. I used to keep a journal. I think I was like eleven or twelve when I stopped because I came home one day and Euron was sitting in my room, with his dirty boots on my bed, and he didn’t even acknowledge I was there, just kept reading it for like an hour before he lit it on fire and kicked the crap out of me.” he said with a forced little laugh. “We were all little shits.” he said. “Don’t know how my dad raised us all to semi functional adults.”
Kili instinctively stiffened as Euron approached him, resisting the urge to run for the door. “Yes, Euron…” He said softly. If this was all the man wanted from him, he could handle that, keep the mere shred of dignity he had left. It was a mindless task. He dropped to his knees in front of the Captain, his hands letting himself to start untying the breeches.
Euron’s blue lips curled into a small smile. “You remind me of my brother.” he mused, leaning back ever so slightly against the chest that was behind him, just enough to get himself firmly into a relaxed position that deeply contrasted how each of Kili’s muscles seemed tight and hard, ready to bolt. But he wouldn’t. He would behave.
kili-the-archer:
“Aye, I will die but not for a several centuries, lass.” He said, annoyed that she was planning for his death already. “I think you might find that your centuries would be better spent if you thought more of the good things than of people’s deaths. You might even enjoy them.”
“I didn’t mean to upset you. And I do think on good things, I just... " she trailed off. Trying to explain how a few centuries didn’t seem like all that long to her, it was futile.
“I enjoy a lot of things. And I’m grateful for all you’ve done for me. I hope you know that I don’t look forward to your death. I imagine you’re going to be the kindest person I’ve ever belonged to. Your brand of open kindness is rare.”
“In truth, you like the pain. You like it because you believe you deserve it.”

Kili nodded furiously, catching the rag as it hit his chest and wiped his chin. He cleaned quickly and silently before the smell could settle in the cabin. Oddly, he felt better now his stomach was empty though it did nothing but fuel his fear. Euron would be angry with him and he realized that was running out of second chances; he would have to start to bend or risk his tongue.
“I-I’m sorry, Euron…” He finished cleaning, putting the bucket and rag by the door, his hands moving back to cover himself.
Euron sat down in his chair, watching the near naked dwarf- except for the collar that brought a small smile to the man’s blue lips. “I can be a forgiving man, little dwarf princling. If you can make it up to me. Do you think you’re capable of that?” He asked, standing from his chair and approaching the dwarf again.
