“Sunshine,
I’ve lost track of the amount of times I have rewritten these vows. Over and over again I have tried to put into words just how much you mean to me, but words can’t express the blooming feeling you cause in my chest, the way I lose my breath when you hold my hand, or the way you make my brain short circuit when you so much as smile in my direction.
For a long time, I was worried I was gonna scare you off if I told you how I’ve always felt, but the truth is, I’ve had a crush on the dorky guitarist from the Dance Dance music video since ninth grade, and the day I met you, I knew it was gonna stick.
You and I have been though so much in such a short amount of time, but I could never picture going through the good times and the bad with anyone else but you. Through everything, you have been my safe place, and I know I can trust you with anything in the world. We have done more in a few months than most couples do in years, but falling into step with you as we made up for lost time together was entirely too easy not to be destined.
For every day I get to spend time with you and our amazing family, I am truly thankful. You have given me love, hope, purpose, support, strength, and above all, you have given me a home in your heart that I am honored to live in for the rest of my life.
I promise that I would do absolutely anything for you, and I know you would do the same. I promise to love you and our kick ass kids through this life and into the next. I promise to laugh at you when you break a leg jumping off the roof into the pool. And I promise I’ll always be the one to hold your hand in the ambulance on our way to get you a cast that all of our friends will lovingly draw dicks on.
Over Rosé and a promise to protect me from drowning myself, I got my first glance at life with my soulmate. For making sure we both showed up to that pool party, thanks Pete, this is all your fault, and partially yours too, Alex.
Joe, you are the most amazing, kind, caring, handsome, funny, and beautiful person I have ever met, and to have the honor of raising two beautiful girls with you, and hopefully more kids in the future, is a blessing I will always be thankful for.
I know we have an affinity for win win situations, but having you as my husband truly makes me the winner, and I am more excited than I’ve ever been, to spend the rest of my life with you.
You are my best friend, my soulmate, and my sunshine, and I promise to love you until the sun burns out and the fake moon falls from the sky.
We have only just begun our journey, and have so far to go, this was so soppy, Alex, play Despacito.”
