Andreas Wellinger for superadlers
Thank you! :)
Your sports teams are like your children. You don't love them because they are good. You love them because they are yours.
Andreas Wellinger as a commentator
One of the best nations in season 2014/15: TEAM GERMANY.

Andreas Wellinger Milka Ski Stars Live Chat – Part 3 (Minute 15.01 – 22.06)
So finally there is a part three, yaay! I´m sorry for any grammatical mistakes, but since i´m not a proffesional translator i hope you can forgive me.
You can find the whole video HERE
Click HERE for part one and two
I: Okay… So, we´ll switch to Jessica now. She asks:
How did you start with sports?
How did it all begun? Was it a family thing?
A: I think everyone tries out different sports as a child, here of course everyone plays soccer. In learned to ski from my father, he was an alpine skier. Unfortunately he was not as successful as I am. He had a few world cup starts but somehow didn´t manage to get on the top. I did a lot of sports when I was young; athletics, swimming, soccer, and nordic combination and ski jumping is what remained. Luckily.
I: That´s what I just wanted to ask. Was it luck? If you look back, would
you choose a different way?
A: I would definitely stay with ski jumping. It´s not just a hobby, but a passion. One has to put a lot of effort in it and just has to live the sport to perform on such a high level. But it brings a lot of joy. The training in the gym, that´s rather boring, and then the jumping on this world´s hills… If I should have chosen a different way i will be able to tell not until i´ve gained as well experience as wisdom, but I don´t think I should have chosen a different of sport.
I: You´ve got over 70.000 fans on Facebook, you are asked for autographs very often, but still I think you should know some of your fans. We have one fan here at Milka, it´s Melek. She´s always watching our Live Chats and enjoys asking questions. If you don´t know her yet, then [points at screen] Melek, that´s Andreas. And her question in combination with the wish for an autograph is:
[In english] Please, can I get an autograph…
A: So we need those now? [Fetches an autograph card and a marker]
I: Exactly. [Spells the name] Whoops… [Has problems with the IPad] [In English] Ahm, the question just switched but Melek, of course we will send the autograph to you. If you also want to have an autograph from Andreas Wellinger please just write a message on Milka Ski Stars.com or Facebook. [In german again] kay, yes, just put it [the autograph card] there. And Melek asked:
Do you have a favourite song? Or a favourite [kind of] music?
A: [In English, i will not correct the mistakes] I listen to music very different. A little bit of HipHop, a little bit of Dance, like R´n´B or something like Electro, but no main thing of music or not one song I would say that´s my favourite.
I: Lili asks:
Andreas, what has been the best moment in your career until now?
A: The golden medal in Sochi. For different reasons, one the one hand Olympia is of course the greatest goal for an athlete and just that i´ve had the possibility to go there, to take part, was amazing. And then you win a medal, which I think is the dream of every athlete, the golden medal, well, that just made it perfect. And winning with the team is just something special, because we all have to work together. Of course, ski jumping is an individual sport, but in a team competition there are four jumpers and is it only possible to win if everyone does his best and if there is a teamspirit. That doesn´t mean everyone has to get along very well, just the cohesion has to be there. And that´s one of the reasons why this has been one of the best moments in my career.
I: The team competition was almost exactly a year ago, wasn´t it? In the middle of February?
A: Yes, it was the 17th of February.
I: Right, 17th of February. I do remember that very well that at 2.30 am the german victory party was over. What happened?
A: Well, 2.30 is quite late, but since our competition was so late in the evening we arrived at 1 am [to the party location] where we´ve had a very nice welcome. The four of us had these huge 5 liter bottles of sect and we would spill the sect, which was really a lot of fun, but at half past two they just ended the party and prepared for the next day. But then we went to you, to the Austrian party and celebrated with you.
I: And shared your joy with us. It was a really cool evening for us as well.
A: And then with the Japanese team…
I: Ah, yes, you´re right, they were there, too!
A: Yes, the whole podium from the team competition!
I: All the twelve jumpers?
A: Right.
I: Yes, I remember, that was a fancy evening. Are you thinking about it sometimes?
A: Absolutely! Especially because of the people who were there. Gregor Schlierenzauer oo Noriaki Kasai, who is more than twice my age.
I: Noriaki Kasai… How old is he?
A: 42. So he could be my father. I think he has been jumping in the world cup for more than 24 years, so he started to jump in the wc when I wasn´t even born… So of course these experiences and moments will always be connected to the medal.
I: So is Noriaki your idol? And who else is?
A: Well, at the beginning it was Martin [Schmitt]…
I: Your predecessor at Milka…
A: And then of course Hannawald. They were on the top of their careers when I started ski jumping. In the last years I think Severin is someone I learned a lot from and i´m still learning. Once again he proved with his golden medal at the world championships, that he is a jumper you can only admire.
