Night Crawler From the dawn of time, man has feared that which was watching from the darkness.  Little did we know that the monster in our closet, that creature under the bed, was only there to protect us from nightmares far worse.

Powers:

Speaks to, travels through, and beloved by shadows.

Primal magics from times forgotten. 

Endless compassion.

I reimagined Nightcrawler as the boogeyman, THE thing that goes bump in the night, saving humanity from other bad stuff but getting a bad rap regardless.  My favorite ability of his is being loved by shadows, that way, he's not commanding him.  They just want to protect him regardless.

Literally and unimaginatively a giant earthworm, the Incredible Nightcrawler is a slimy crime fighter that many crooks fear. With unbelievable generative powers, unstoppable tunnelling prowess and let's say an inexplicable psychic communication ability, the Nightcrawler just wants to be a superhero and he wears a cape to show it.
