Urban Outfitters Sizing Research Trip Summer 2018 - TVxParsons
Urban Outfitters Sizing Research Trip Summer 2018
So, I found myself in Urban Outfitters, at the Del Amo mall, on a Saturday evening, focused! No buying. Just research, is what I told myself. “You're here to finish your assignment.” It was a trap! I definitely purchased something.
What I did learn is, aside from Urban Renewal, Urban Outfitters is very consistent in making sure all S, M, L, etc. are close to identical to one another, respectively. I tried two different sizes in tops, bottoms and dresses. I honestly was trying so hard to spot differences but there weren’t really any.
I tried on two white t-shirts in medium and noticed no difference. I also tried on the same t-shirt in yellow and noticed nothing different. I then tried on two pairs of the same size jean and I did notice that the second pair of the same size I tried on was slightly roomier. I am not sure but I’m assuming it is because the material is slightly stretchy.
Finally, I tried on two green mini dresses that button all the way up and did notice that the second one I tried was slightly tighter in the breast area. Other than that the length and fit was virtually the same.
All of the items I tried on were consistent in sizing. I know that UO has an Urban Renewal brand were they take vintage clothing and make a collection of very similar but separately unique items. In that case, you could order or buy a size small and receive something that doesn’t quite fit. It’s always a gamble. Below are the photos.
