More on Lucas.
In my lifetime of permambulations, my endless walkabout, I see this and/or that, from time to time. I had no intention a month ago of being in Norman, Oklahoma. In fact, I hadn’t been in Oklahoma-which may have the nation’s most distubring state history-in 5 years. But when you wander you wander and today I […]

What a great time to be alive!!
Bart Beaty returns to the Journal to pay homage to the late scholar John Lent, who died on May 16.
```Long-time Slashdot reader schwit1 brings word that Marcia Lucas, part of the editing team for both Star Wars and Return of the Jedi, has died at age 80 after a battle with metastatic cancer. Married to George Lucas from 1969 to 1983, Marcia is remembered by The Wrap as "a powerful asset in the ...
(via Rip Jagger's Dojo: Ditko's Hulk!)
My theory is that the Hulk as we know him is a Ditko creation. Before Ditko’s TTA run, it was like the character was recreated for every story.
I even reached out to One Who Might be Able to Confirm the theory without luck. My source didn’t know although working the Marvel method and that Lee seemed to give Ditko great leeway (no pun), suggests that odds are I’m correct.
And Ditko was packing enough anger to suggest that being upset could trigger Banner’s transformations...
Had some personal knowledge of white. An interesting, bright, politically impeccable guy.
Didn’t do much in comics but everything he did was important, high quality stuff.
Marcia Lucas, who won an Academy Award for the original Star Wars, has passed away.
Per the legend or whatever, her editing is what made the first Star Wars film work. Allegedly edited the story into making sense while editing the film.
Film editors can be both kinds of editors in the course of their work. Not just selecting the shots to use but editing the story as well. The director shoots what they want but making it lucid sometimes falls to the editor. So Lucas was apparently both there.
