“…Are you backhandedly saying I’m old? Because I’m not, you know. I haven’t even hit my prime yet…”
Leon laughed to himself though, and shook his head as he led the woman toward the town center, where all of the businesses were located. It was quite a pleasant day for a walk, but just chilly enough that a warm cup of coffee would be more than welcome.
He blinked when Cynthia mentioned that she hadn’t been eating well, and he rubbed his chin. Perhaps he could leave her with sufficient home-cooked meals for her journey. He always cooked healthy foods, and from what people had told them, they tasted good. He would shelf that thought for later, though. Hopefully, his new friend rival wouldn’t be leaving any time soon.
“Daybreak Town?” he asked as he opened the door to the cafe, having never heard of the place before. “Is that where you’re from?”
Cynthia noted the mild blankness to Leon’s gaze as she mentioned Daybreak Town. It wasn’t particularly surprising, even she had lost track of the world after the great war. The woman hated to admit it to herself, but there was even the ever unsettling possibility that her home had been destroyed in the midst of all the drama and destruction. Still, she choose to refer to Daybreak Town like it was but a quick gummi warp away.
“Yes, that’s the good ol’ home when I’m not living inside the ship- Which is more often than not, actually... But! Aha! It’s a nice place to visit! Little shops overlooked by a grand castle... Elderly keyblade masters watching over all below and training the next generation in the art of lightbearing... And if you take the time to walk out all the way to the lighthouse or sneak onto the roof of the Moogle cafe, oho! Well, they don’t call the world Daybreak Town for nothing.” Cynthia softly rambled on, but stopped herself once feelings of homesickness settled in. She gave a soft sigh and let her gaze wander for a couple moments before puffing back up with her regular charisma. “But I mean- I have been to far better worlds than Daybreak Town! The galaxy has so much to offer outside of little vistas, right? We need some real excitement in our lives!” the rouge scoffed, almost as if trying to dismiss discussion of her hometown.
Cynthia sat down with Leon at a table near the windows, giving an outwards view of the Hollow Bastion castle reconstruction in the far distance. The woman paused from her usual chattering simply to take in the atmosphere of the cafe. “This is... Surprisingly nice.” Cynthia admitted at long last, leaning back in her seat a bit and examining the other patrons in the cafe with mild suspicion. “You said a lady friend of yours owned this place? My, I wonder if her appearance matches her soothing taste.” the rouge commented offhandedly, despite her lazy movement, she was still unable to stay one hundred percent still at any given moment.
