Movement, progress, a horse

2 months ago: almost to the day,  I was a black horse running in circles lost in a forest of my own creation. 

This is not a metaphor, in those moments I truly felt the sweat on my back, the feel of the ground beneath my feet and fear in my heart. I was lost, utterly lost.

It took a friendly voice to remind me to breath. In doing so I was no less lost, no less a horse, but less afraid. 

Today I find myself reaching out for that voice again to remind me to breathe. To be less afraid and to remember that being lost is only the first steps to finding your own way.
