character development: is there any significant reasoning behind your character's appearance/attitude when designing them?

Everyone at NRC (minus yuu and grim) have very strong opinions on Malleus. I wanted Orev to be very nonchalant about being so close to Malleus, as it not only made him stand out but it also helped me decide how he interacted with the whole of Diasomnia
