I really love the wear on this 60s Epiphone Cortez, and the angle of the De Armond pickup. I have this thing about guitars, all guitars have songs in them, some more then others. When I had trouble writing a song, I bought and new guitar-vintage or Brand new or I picked up a friends guitar and out came a whole slew of new songs. So I kept on buying gear. Sometimes I would go back to the old one I was having trouble with, just to see if it had Recharged with new Songs, and just like Magic, It had. This has happened throughout my life. Still continues today. Old Guitars have lots to say-sometimes they just need a rest. I really love the fact that this De Armond Guitar microphone as they call it, decided not to include the B String Magnate Pole. I don’t have a problem with spray painting everything I own, I love stencils and other little blasts of paint, it’s the idea of making it your own, and also keeping a fun constant. I can’t think of a time in my my life when I didn’t use the stuff, The pastels are my fave, but black and white and even clear get plenty of use. Who Keeps paint around this long? Take a gander at this Polish Beauty. Made in 1966 by Defil, I’m not sure what the name is about, But who cares? This guitar is amazing! The neck is so beefy it almost compares to my 2 Fender Fatocasters! It Is a tad thinner and more square then my guitars, but A very good feel to them. 3 single coil pick ups that twang their way to freedom! I also love the way the knobs are lined up! This Man looks no different today than he did when I shot this photo sometime in the late 80s, He still rips as hard as he did then, And still Progressing the Skateboard, Neil Blender. This place was really hard to ride, 3 feet of vert and Maybe 1 foot of Tranny, on the other side of the wall was a 12 Foot drop. Suzuki Banks. For me, Painting helps the inner self. It lets me move without Boundaries, Without thought of The Now, While in The Now... Music and Skateboarding And Photography do the Same, Only in Different intensity’s- Not better or worse, just Different. All of the above can be done Alone, And be very Satisfying. Sometimes shooting an artist, asking an artist to pose for you is tuff, specially if there is a language barrier. Tonight at The World Famous Casbah, From Japan- Boris headlines a very wall to wall packed show, I asked them to pose for a “1 Photo and 1 Photo Only” Portrait And they kindly said yes. A Vintage Vox AC 30 head and closed back 2/12 Cab, and a 1998 Vox AC 30 TBX, that once Belonged to me. All this is on according to his switch on his vintage Gibson Les Paul, wired with 2 output Jacks for Swami Phonic Tones.
