Bartok was a Hungarian-born actress who made a big splash in Hollywood during the 1950′s. Perhaps her biggest success was in The Crimson Pirate with Burt Lancaster. She was part of a wave of European actresses who came to Hollywood after World War II - Alida Valli, Anita Ekberg, Rosanna Podesta, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and later Sophia Loren, Anna Magnani, Virna Lisi, etc. etc.
