You took your seats in the pew among the family and friends of the couple and looked up at the smiling groom and your smiling boyfriend that stood in the line of groomsmen beside him. The familiar song started to play and you turned along with everyone to watch the bride begin her walk down the aisle.
Sebastian followed everyone’s gaze to his friend’s soon-to-be wife, but when his eyes caught you smiling in the crowd you were all he could see. The gleam in your eye entranced him and his heart leapt seeing the joy on your face. When she reached the altar he peeled his eyes away and looked at the couple in front of him.
After pictures ended Sebastian quickly found his way to the reception hall and found his seat beside you. “Hey,” he pressed a kiss to your temple and saw down. “You look beautiful.”
You blushed. “Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself, Stan. Especially in that suit,” you winked. The DJ announced the arrival of the new Mr. and Mrs. and you joined the room in clapping. You watched with doe eyes as the happy couple took their first dance together, but Sebastian could only watch you.
The way you looked, the smile that reached your eyes, and the atmosphere around him made him finally realize that this was all he wanted. He knew he wanted to marry you shortly after you two started dating, but now he knew it was finally time to settle down with you by his side.
As couple began joining in for the next dance he grabbed your hand and lead you to the floor. “Do we want a porch swing or to rocking chairs,” he spoke right into your ear?
“For growing old together. Do we want a porch swing or matching rocking chairs?”
You took a second to think about it. “We should get a double rocking chair. It’ll be easier when we’re old and we can still be together.”
He held you close. “I’ll start shopping for one the second we leave.”
