Hi guys, I know I haven’t been here in so long. It’s because I have been working on another project of mine @ptushka.studio. I don’t know if any of you know that I was born and raised in Belarus, my mom was Ukrainian, and my father was Russian. A month ago it was impossible to imagine that there was going to be a war between these countries. We all have always been brotherly nations, and we’re pretty much the same people. There are millions of families like mine, where one parent is from one of the three countries, and the other one is from the neighboring one. I can’t believe that this war and all its horrors are happening in todays world in civilized countries. It’s hard to find words to describe how heartbreaking it is to watch Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian soldiers killing each other, innocent people and children dying while trying to evacuate, peaceful civilians starving and dying with no medical help every day because of the political dirt and brainwashing propaganda. My entire extended family on my mom’s side is in Ukraine. Thank God they are all alive and well, and some of them have escaped to European countries as refugees. The extended family on my father’s side from Russia haven’t been in contact in a really long time. I am not going to go into details and opinions about the current events. I am here to say that in every one of those countries there are people who do not support this war, and there are countless proofs of that. It is sad to say that in the past few weeks I and some of my friends have been discriminated in the USA as Russian speaking immigrants because people here do not fully understand what is going on in Eastern Europe. The purpose of @ptushka.studio project is to appreciate and share the history and culture of Belarus, to support Ukraine, and to give people a chance to show their support and active citizen position.
