Directions

I’m the best person to run into on the street if you need directions. I will pull out my phone and Map it for you if I don’t know where it is. 

I ran into a man from Philadelphia the other day who needed directions.

After I gave him directions, the conversation went like this:

Me: “So how are you liking Paris?”

Him: “I love it! So will this street take me back out to Boulevard Saint Germain?”

Me: “Yes. It’s confusing, like a maze back here.”

Him: “Yes, it seems easy, like it makes sense, but then you realize it’s really complicated. Pretty much just like the French.”

Me: “Sir, you’ve nailed it right on the head.”

We shake hands and I walk away smiling, because in just a few days this man has figured out this country. It seems easy, but they make it really complicated.
