i see so often people talk about how labels like lesbian or gay are limiting and are boxes into which they do not fit and I wonder if this is because people turned sexualities into personalities and they no longer see lesbian as a woman who is attracted to woman but as a set of characteristics in which they do not fit. no one ever says that calling themselves blue-eyed is limiting even though being blue-eyed and a lesbian are both innate things which are just. there. I hate sexualities being called labels or identities for that reason, like it does a good job in separating our sexuality from us

I get so annoyed when people approach prolifers and ask them if they would adopt as some sort of gotcha moment, because the for-profit billion dollar newborn adoption industry in the US are major funders of the prolife movement. because the men in charge of these agencies make millions off of rich infertile couples buying babies from poor/young women. they claim the costs are all agency and lawyer fees, but the fees are tiered and based off of the race and sex of the baby, the more “in demand” newborn babies (white and male) cost more in “fees” for the infertile couples to pay the agency for those adoptions

And the thousands of infertile rich couples who have been on waiting lists for years for a baby are desperate for more young/poor women to be in positions in which they can be more easily coerced and pressured into relinquishing a fullterm baby that they’ll be bonded to and love more than anything at birth. which is why adoption is so cruel towards birthmothers-because whether or not they would have been indifferent, relieved, or sad at the abortion of a small clump of cells, no one is immune to the biological bonding process that takes place by the end of a fullterm pregnancy, and seeing and then losing their own living breathing biological baby to strangers…no one is immune to the emotional lifelong hardship that comes with relinquishment of an actual baby, which is why forced birth is so inhumane
