“Just try to ignore the horror stories of people cumming in the pool or what the fuck ever. I think they’re just being paranoid, although it’s fun to make ‘em even more squeamish.”
“Seriously? That’s a weird thing to be squeamish about in here.” she chuckled. “If anyone cums in the pool I’m pretty sure you’d see it and don’t they have janitors or something?”
“I get you’ve some big reason to be here, I’m not talking about that - I’m saying it’s natural for people to want to question you about that.” she said “I didn’t call you dim or reckless but like, you’re a young girl with your entire life - obviously I’d be curious why you’d give up a lot of freedom.” she said “i wasn’t attacking you.” for once quincy wasn’t being horrid and the girl was shutting her down quickly.
“Yes you can be curious but just stop questioning it and leave the subject alone. No, maybe not intentionally but I told you from the beginning if you were going to be like this then to just leave because to me you are still coming off as judgemental and I don’t like it.” Freya wasn’t trying to be mean but she wasn’t going to continue arguing over something so childish.
He laughed “I don’t think anyone really does well with rules, they want freedom to do as they please,” he said “but I’m sure you’ll get someone you like.”
“True.” she laughed with him. “Let’s hope. Did you get somebody that you like right off the bat?”
“So what is it that you like about this place?”
“It’s relaxing. The whole theme it’s got is cool too.”
“No problem.. you new?”
“That obvious?” she asked playfully.
He laughs. “Okay. You don’t have to tell me love. How old are you?”
Freya didn’t find it funny but she continued to smile anyway. “Nineteen.”
“You’re a little bit stuck with them - since none of us are going anywhere after all.”
“This place is huge. It’s pretty easy to avoid someone.”
“i think you’re being a little sensitive considering it’s natural for someone to question your choice to give up your life and freedom - especially as you can’t be more than twenty.” she said.
“maybe but you don’t know me or my whole reason for being here so it’s not your right to say that i’m being sensitive. i could say the same about you but why bring age into it? i’m not talking like some dim witted, reckless teenager. i’m trying to respectfully put an end to this topic and move on.”
“I mean, you obviously feel insecure about your choice - I’ve barely said anything to you and you’ve gotten defensive several times.” she said. “I don’t mind this place is people are willing and stuff - people are adults, they can choose what the like - so if you chose this, fine, whatever. I just personally don’t get it.”
“That’s what happens when you keep looking at someone like a freak show and are constantly questioning something that was a big choice for them. I can tell you don’t get it and I can’t make you nor do I want to. It’s just perspective and if ours don’t align then it’s probably best to just not talk about it.”
“Oh wow. I haven’t met a willing pet I don’t think. What made you come here?”
“Neither have I but I’m new. I’m sure there’s more. I’d tell you but it’s a secret and I’ve already thrown away the key.”
“This is a bit of a strange place to come to hide out, I’m allowed to worry,” she pointed out, “I already have Riley in here, I don’t need to be looking out for anyone else.”
Freya lifted her shoulders in a small shrug. “That’s great your with your sister and like, I’m not asking you to look out for me. If I couldn’t take care of myself I would be running from here like Scooby-Doo being chased by a monster.”
“Probably is honestly. Considering where we are, anythings possible right? When you say dorms, does that make you a pet?”
“That’d be so cool. It does, Sherlock.” She teased him playfully. “What are you?”
“I’m sensing that not everyone will agree with you about that.”
“So? I don’t need a bunch of downers in my life.”
She couldn’t understand - she just didn’t get it - she had been to juvie, she had problems, but surely freedom was the only choice. “okay –” she said.
“Look, I get we all have our stories and you’re not going to really get it unless I tell you mine but that’s not what matters. People and places are what you make of them. I know there’s awful parts to this place like the kidnapping and maybe you got stuck with somebody mean but find something good and hold onto that. It won’t seem so bad after awhile.”
Felix nodded “I’m sure you’ll be claimed quickly,” he told her “girls are always scooped up within the week.”
“That’s good to hear. I honestly don’t mind waiting because I mean, as long as I get someone nice I get perks but I also don’t do well with rules so we’ll see how it works out.”
“This is going to sound super weird, but you’re fucking gorgeous.”
“Being nice isn’t weird. Thanks, babe.”
“The pool’s a great place to relax. Just lay on your back and float. It’s amazing.”
“Yeah? I’ll totally try it out. Thanks for the tip, dude.”
