This is Pea, my plantmorph mitten crab persona. They are typically drawn in a Sonic-esque rubberhose-like design.
I don't like the art I have of them so far, so I'm sharing the sprite edit i made. The image is part of much larger sheet of sprites, since there's already a mod, that replaces Sonic in the Sonic Advance games.
Out of speed, power and flight, their speciality is speed. Together with the personas of two friends of mine, one for power and one for flight, that makes up a team, like would be suitable for Sonic heroes.
They don't have protrusions, but the top of their head is strong, so when they spin, it sticks out a little and bashes things, similar to the way Sonic's quills allow him to cut enemies.
The negative effect of the headbash roll is, when they roll on the ground, either from a spindash, tuck roll or a drop roll, it bumps them into the air automatically, and also stalls their roll.
On the plus side, as well as being able to breathe in air and underwater, they are also very fast underwater, as long as their feet touch the ground.
By using a well-timed roll bump, before running into a wall, their forward momentum can be changed into upward momentum, allowing them to run up walls against gravity.
If this wallrun is performed underwater, it will function like a regular run, ignoring the pullback of gravity.
