The apartment above the country club was laden with books and records and debris. Photographs that had inexplicably been left behind. Wardrobes full of clothes and there was food in the cupboards. Omens of death were scrawled on the walls and a knife stuck in the bedroom door. Downstairs, grass grew wild over the ballroom floor, mottled with browns and greens and shimmers of broken glass. Moss crawled down the walls in spreading capillaries, wooden beams ached and groaned.The bar was laden with bottles, a quiet corner for young people to come and fill up on something cheap and sickening, maybe break something.The air tasted bitter, dank. I worried for a while about what I was breathing in, but we descended further into the building and I got over the fear quickly enough. The badminton court loomed over us like a cathedral, chairs laid out like scattered pews. The floor glistened and I lost my footing a few times trying to make my way across the hall. At the back of the hall lay a single piece of pornography, a nude woman sunbathing. Further on, through another set of rooms, a squash court lay devoid of light. Our phones died, my camera substitued for a torch. We didn't linger long; the sun was going down and we didn't want to lose what light we had left.

Working on the comic in tech. Came up with a draft cover and working title. Studying how to digitally colour. #bangbanghyukhyuk #weirdart #cartoons

These houses are opposite mine and have been abandoned for years. The back garden is completely overgrown. The bird calls are louder than the road and there's ivy and green clawing all over the building. In the shed there's a circle of burnt wood and a couple of sleeping bags that lie zipped up and undisturbed.

A charcoal life study. Was happy with it until I added too much. This was a 50 minute study. Live and learn I guess. #lifedrawing #charcoal
