Now this was a tricky one to explain for Luigi. If he could compose himself enough to speak coherently, itâd still be very difficult to talk about. Mario was the only who really knew the extent of the green manâs anxieties. And just what would Daisy think of him? To know this had happened more than once? Would she think he was so weak-minded? Luigi whimpered at the thought.
Raising his head, the troubled hero looked up at the monarchâs vague figure, which was blurred by his teary, bloodshot eyes. He could tell she was smiling though, which gave him a slight sense of security. She had been one of his dearest friends for many years and they were close as could beâ he could trust her with these scary feelings.
âItâ Itâs h-happenedâ Itâs happened b-beforeâŠâ He managed this much through shuddering breaths. âI-I didâ I did b-b-bad things⊠I-Iâm-a s-scared⊠I-I didnât m-mean t-toâŠâ A fresh wave of tears came spilling forth with those words and trembling gloved hands rush to cover his eyes.
... Ooooh, now Daisy had an idea of what was going on here. She was starting to get a better understanding of just what was responsible for this sad display of despair and cowardice.
â ... Is this about the evil tennis racket? â Letting her question set for little more than a few moments, Daisy put on a bigger smile and gave a soft pat to Luigiâs back for attempted support. As though to say that not only was she not mad about such a thing - it wasnât even a big deal.
â Hey, I hope youâre not getting upset about all that. We didnât get you outta that thingâs control just so you could come here and cry about it! Itâs no big deal - really! â An arm wraps around the plumberâs shoulder, pulling him in for a bit of comfort, as she remembered just what all had happened following that stupid racket getting involved. Sure, Luigi had been pulled into the center of it all... but it was par for the course during these events. Even if Luigi had played an unwitting role in it... well, she was more than used to the unfortunate events he got mixed up in by now. Everyone was - and she and Mario were willing to deal with just about anything to pull him out of whatever mess he might get involved in, now or in the future. And hey - it wouldâve wound up happening without him, anyways. Besides... â I mean, hey, those two idiots are the ones who brought that thing in the first place... and you donât see them crying, do ya? â
