"They Only Cross at Night" Day 5: Today we shot in Glendale for some more post-apocalyptic street scenes. We dressed the scene with litter and debris thanks to a marvelous job by our VFX Director Chloe Camonayan. We also filmed some amazing shots thanks to the wonderfully talented Catherine Baquir, LiquidRock’s Director of Photography. And, once again, our actor and Composer, Rick Ortega brought his A-game to the emotionally-turmoiled lead character as he walked through deserted streets, amidst a eerie sunset, hinting of terrors soon to come… Anyway, until next time, be safe and keep and eye out for more news -LRP

Filming Day 4: We shot some more scenes on the streets of Eagle Rock. Our goal was to film at a certain time of day, whilst trying to capture the emptiness of the streets. Part of filmmaking involves a combination of careful planning, improvisation, and being very patient. Thankfully we have a great crew and actors who perform on an amazingly consistent level. Until next time, be safe and look out for more news.- LRP

Chloe, writing, fiction markets...

So, today was spent with the lovely Chloe Camonayan. I love bouncing ideas off this girl, she's like a muse/guardian angel to my creative side. She's currently drawing/ coloring while I write this. Also, today I submitted a few more stories today; I always have to keep up on markets and keep submitting. Oh, and I finished the first chapter to my novel. Peter Atkins review of my story/screenplay "They Only Cross at Night."

So today I got an email from Peter Atkins, acclaimed short story writer and screenwriter of Hellraiser 2, 3, and Wishmaster, and here's what he said about my story, which we are currently shooting:

I think it's terrific, both the story and the adaptation. It's well (and cleverly) told, with a nice twist that doesn't feel like a cheat. You can feel both the pace and the atmosphere on paper, which is often the toughest trick to pull off with a script. Can't wait to see the movie!

Day 2 of filming...

So, today me and the crew at LiquidRock Productions filmed for the second day in a row. We filmed a lot of great shots in Eagle Rock and got some great performances from our actor. It is truly a great feeling to see my story/ screenplay "They Only Cross at Night" come to life. Shout out to Chloe, Cat, and Rick; the greatest crew anyone could ask for.

The LiquidRock Production team set out for day two of filming for our short horror film, ”They Only Cross at Night.” We captured amazing footage and are now looking forward to next week when we film our more intense scenes. Be on the lookout for more updates and photos…some involving desolate streets, rundown homes, and a creepy church.

First day of filming

So today, me and the rest of the LiquidRock Productions crew met up for our first day of filming. We got some preliminary shots in and are quite happy. We will continue shooting tomorrow, with some pictures going up on the official LiquidRock Page tomorrow as well. Also, on some down time, we practiced some archery in my backyard. We are coming along great as a group and now we know we can kill with a bow and arrow as a unit too. Zombie run 2013

So today me and the amazing Chloe Camonayan partook in the 2013 zombie run in San Bernardino. It was exhausting at times as we had to maneuver obstacles and dodge zombies but it was fun as well. We got wet and dirty by the end of the run and we ended up losing all our flags..so we got infected but it was a great receiving our medals at the end. We also got a free shirt and a bag of cracker jacks, so all in all it was a great day! Until next time!

Production Meeting/Fight Choreography

Today, the crew of LiquidRock Productions met to discuss the launching of our social media websites. Alas, here we are. Welcome to our tumblr page! We will post behind-the-scenes news and updates as well as pictures and musings. Today we also choreographed some fights for our upcoming horror film, “They Only Cross at Night.” It got down and dirty, but aside from a few scrapes, we got the shots we wanted.
