“Ochs, whose record albums have been banned from most radio stations, has sung in anti-war rallies from Berkeley, California, to Denmark…Ochs has been called ‘too controversial’ for the mass media, but his songs are reportedly gaining international attention” The Oneonta Star — January 30, 1968

Journalists try not to mention Phil's clothes are ill-fitting challenge [impossible]. Imagining nuns cheering on him is very entertaining though!
Commented unprovoked on a picture of Bob Dylan.

He acted as my big brother songwriter guide the minute I hit the Village in '64. He introduced me to everybody--from Pete Seeger, Peter LaFarge, to Fred Neil, to Bob Dylan. Then on this day forty-nine years ago I got a call from David Blue telling me he had taken his own life. It was a shocking sad end before anybody knew what being bi-polar was or the horrible harm it can cause. In the photo below at some festival we're joking around--he is wearing my hat from the cover of 'Bout Changes 'n' Things, carrying my guitar, & pretending to be my road manager. He always watched over me--we are missing him, his spirit, & his great songs everyday.
