i love little kids with very niche interests. Like for awhile I nannied for a family who had a little girl who loved old black and white movies. She adopted a transatlantic accent, constantly wore a long string of plastic pearls, and would often dramatically drape herself over pieces of furniture when told to do something and say “I just can’t do it babe”
i once dropped her stuffed animal and she yelled “there’s been a murder!”

a piece of advice my dad gave me and I’ve never forgotten is, “if you won’t worry about it in 4 months, don’t worry about it now.” saved me countless times, it’s a philosophy to adopt and help improve your life. Failed a test? ask yourself if you’ll think about this still in 4 months? Made a fool of yourself in public? I doubt even the people who saw it will remember it past today. Know you could have done better? Ran further? don’t beat yourself up over it, you can do better tomorrow. Don’t overthink things, a lot of negatives matter less than you think they do.
“I know that I’m hard to love. Some days I’m all smiles and affection and then other days there’s nothing I want more than to be quiet and lie in bed. Sometimes I get angry about stupid things and won’t want to talk to you. Other days I’ll think that you’re the most perfect boy in the world. Please don’t give up on me. I know it’s not easy but I’ll always come back to you.”

never let your loneliness drive you back to toxic people
Hey guys do you have any tips about going to the gym/losing weight??? I’m trying to exercise more but I’m in college and I don’t have a regular gym class. Are there any ways I can stick with a schedule or anything???
Hello!
Setting a schedule that matches up with yours. Exercising twice a week is good, and remember to never undereat! Even though it seems like if you eat less you’ll loose weight, you’ll do more damage to yourself in the long run. - B
So this is something I have done a fair bit of research on over the years. I’m not going to give you specific diet advice because you should talk to a doctor and nutritionist or dietitian before you make changes to your diet. But here’s what I know, based on my research and my personal experience.
Drink lots of water. Keep a water bottle with you at all times, and have at it. If you don’t like plain water, try flavoured club soda or add some sliced cucumber or fruit like lemon or raspberries.
Try to eat lots of protein, but don’t drastically decrease your carbs or anything like that. Protein is great for your brain, but carbs give you energy to do things like exercise!
Fruits and vegetables are really good for you, so eat lots. As much as you want. Especially vegetables.
Doing any kind of strict elimination diet that is not necessary for your health (like a gluten-free diet for celiac disease) is not going to result in long-term weight loss, is going to be hard to maintain, and isn’t going to be fun. I did a candida diet for almost a full year and lost 30 lbs, and then I gained it all back as soon as I started eating sugar again. (Then I got pregnant, so I gained even more.)
Pick days and times for your exercising that work for your schedule. If you’re not a morning person, don’t expect yourself to get up at 5:30 every morning to go for a run, especially if you hate running!
Choose types of exercise that you enjoy. If you don’t know what you like, try a few different things. I like treadmills, walking/running tracks, and recumbent bikes. I hate stationary bikes, step machines, and ellipticals. I prefer free weights to weight machines.
Alternate types of exercise. If you’re going daily, do cardio one day and weights the next. It’s important to work different sets of muscles and give everything a chance to recover. That’s how you build more muscle and endurance. You can also do cardio every day, but do slow one day and interval training the next (that’s where you go slow for a bit, then as fast as you can for a short time, then slow again), and do weights every other day, targeting a different muscle group each time (upper, core, and lower body).
Get enough sleep! At least seven hours in bed trying to fall asleep, every night.
Try tracking your steps every day. My friend who is a paper carrier logs over 20,000 steps per day doing that job, and she’s lost lots of weight since she started. And it’s healthy because she’s just walking constantly and hasn’t done any limiting of her diet and stuff; she’s still eating the same way she was before.
That’s most of my information right now. Like I said, talk to your doctor about dietary changes, and you might want to also talk about what kind of exercise you want to start doing, to make sure it’s safe for you to do.
Good luck!

How do you move on? You move on when your heart finally understands that there is no turning back.
J.R.R. Tolkien (via wordsnquotes)
After a while you learn the subtle difference Between holding a hand and chaining a soul, And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning And company doesn’t mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts And presents aren’t promises, And you begin to accept your defeats With your head up and your eyes open With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child, And you learn to build all your roads on today Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn… That even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul, Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure… That you really are strong And you really do have worth… And you learn and learn… With every good-bye you learn.
Jorge Luis Borges, “You Learn” (via wordsnquotes)
1. Don’t rush. If there’s something you’ll miss, it will be the time you have now. 2. Stop wasting time blaming yourself and blaming others–things happen for a reason, even if the reason will make sense ten years down the road. 3. Don’t stay around toxic people just because you’re afraid of being alone. Being your own best friend has its perks, and there’s no one else you’ll spend more time with than yourself. 4. Be yourself, unapologetically. It may be embarrassing now, but you will learn that there’s nothing more interesting than someone true to themselves. 5. Don’t be afraid of voicing your thoughts, don’t be afraid of calling out people that hurt you. 6. Write. Write. Write. It will help you clear your mind and also distract yourself when you’re anxious. Writing will be your best friend. 7. Learn all you can, and enjoy it all you want. Knowledge is the only thing truly yours. 8. Be the friend you need, the friend you want. 9. Read all you can. You’ll find the words you can’t say in the lips of others, you’ll find shelter. 10. Love yourself. That’s the only love you will have, constantly, and the only one that will stick with you even if you fail.

I hope you wake up one day and you’ll roll over, half asleep and reach for me only to find the empty sheets. And I hope you lose your breath and I hope you lay there now fully awake, and think “fuck why did I ever leave her.” I hope you’ll lose sleep over me the way I did over you.

please love me in the most soft and loyal way. I’m so tired.
My heart is so exhausted.
There was nothing to talk about anymore. The only thing to do was go.
