Went to a local pottery painting place recently, and decided to paint a bowl with ~Space~ and the Delta Flyer!
Considering I did it completely free-hand without even a pencil, I think it looks pretty good! I won't know the final result until next week, but here's hoping it turns out as pretty as I hope. 🤞

I was at ST:LV for the very first time this year and got to see the (hilarious and wonderful) Voyager cast panel!
Half the cast was onstage first, and when the rest of the cast joined and a lot of them were hugging, I need everyone to know that I got to see Robert Duncan McNeill go for the under-hug with many of them - especially Robert Picardo.
Robbie scooped Bob up into a lift during their hug! It was so cute and I wish I could have been fast enough to take a picture. 😭❤️

Yes!!! I love Tom as a medic so much!!! 🥺
He obviously doesn't much like having to deal with the Doctor, but he's still so sweet and he cares so much about the crew!!! His bedside manner is good too, changing depending on who he's treating. He'll tease or joke, but he's also very sincere if that's what people need (like in "Once Upon a Time" where he tries to play it off that Sam Wildman is ok to not scare her, but when she calls him out on it he tells it to her straight).
When he's healing Seven's cut in "Revulsion", as much as Harry chides him for joking about "almost having to do surgery" and such, it feels like the exact kind of directness that Seven would appreciate (mixed with Tom's usual lightheartedness, because he's one of the few people not treating her differently than he'd treat anyone else). And in "Body and Soul" Tom's obviously a bit awkward about dealing with Tuvok going through pon farr, but he does exactly what Tuvok needs most by keeping it hush-hush.
I sometimes wish the show had taken some more time to address that Tom didn't choose to go into medicine - he sort of got thrown into being a medic by necessity and that's a scary thing. Not just emergency first-aid, but even helping the doctor with surgeries and who knows what else! And being responsible for the lives of people you know and care about in a very up-close and personal kind of way!!! Not just defending someone in a fight as an officer, or flying the ship to safety as a pilot, but possibly getting elbow-deep in blood and bones and everything else. Usually the show jokes about it with comments from the Doctor, and I wish there could have been an episode with the two of them coming to terms with each other (Tom recognizing just what the Doctor has to do every single day, and the Doctor recognizing how much Tom actually cares and tries his best at something he wasn't initially trained for).
Anyways THANK YOU for this message I would LOVE to hear more and talk more about Tom Paris and especially medic Tom. This makes me want to try to edit screencaps now to put him in a medical teal uniform....
So... I re-read over what would have originally been the next chapter to work on for my Voyager OT3 fic. Mind you, this was probably first written in like... 2023. Possibly even late 2022.
Anyways to No One's Surprise, I am once again probably going to have to scrap the chapter and completely re-wright it because it doesn't work with what I have now.
So uh... just assume it's going to be another 6 months before I can post a new chapter OTL

Year of Hell I & II (gets kidnapped and looks damn good with the Krenim)
Waking Moments (adorable scenes with pajamas and B'Elanna)
Gravity (hate the Character Assassination but he still looks real handsome)
Course: Oblivion (THE WEDDING!!! also he's So Happy and then So Sad)
Lineage (Tom Paris is a Good Husband and Father 😭 I will FIGHT you on this)

Because I've got the brain-rot for my favorite pilot, figured I'd make a fun poll. These are just some of the episodes that I like a lot for the Tom Paris content in them, even if he's not the central focus (compared to episodes like "Threshold" or "Thirty Days").
I want to see what other Tom Paris fans out there enjoy! And no, I didn't include "Bride of Chaotica!" even though it's a fantastic ensemble episode with great Tom content, because I know it would sweep too easily.

My brain, @ 3 in the morning: Think about Tom Paris in that uniform t-shirt, sweaty and being held up by Harry and/or the Doctor. Think about him looking clearly ill/unwell because he'd been hooked into some kind of alien machine in order to pilot an advanced ship in a war/battle. Think of a bunch of the main crew going to that ship and rescuing him, only to be trapped there - with their only way back being to use that same highly advanced alien ship to fly back, and to protect Voyager from the oncoming alien fleet. Think about Tom offering himself up and hooking back in so he can pilot the ship, even though it was slowly killing him. Think about how painful it is every time the ship takes damage or something breaks - how circuits blowing leave him with burns and other injuries where wires and machine parts are attached to him (neck, spine, temple, arms, maybe legs). Think about the Doctor fretting nearby, taking readings as Tom's condition quickly deteriorates, blood dripping from his nose and breaking into a high fever from the strain of the neural link. Think about the moment that Voyager is safe andJaneway screaming to shut it all down so they can get Tom free. Think about Tom collapsing as soon as he's unhooked from the machine, having to be beamed over to Sickbay while Harry and B'Elanna can only sit and wait for the Doctor to hopefully fix him up again.
Me, trying to sleep @ 3 in the morning: um... is there an actual story or plot to go along with this plethora of whump material?

UPDATE: Writing is Hard
So the newest chapter for Out From Flames, on Fragile Wings is going to take even longer than usual (I know I'm sorry, it's already been 3 months ;___;)
For one, this chapter has been giving me trouble from the beginning, and I have written and re-written it like three times already. I finally know where I want to go with it, but it's unfortunately going to need a major over-haul and possibly two-thirds of it entirely re-written (again).
The other issue is that I am about to start a new job in less than two weeks, which with Autism and my chronic pain is probably going to be A Lot. I don't know how long it will take me to adjust enough that I will have the time/energy to actually write.
For anyone here on tumblr who has been reading this Voyager OT3 fanfic of mine, thank you so much for sticking with me over all this time. I'm not giving up on this monster of a fic, but it's going to take even longer than usual for an update so I'm sorry, and just wanted you all to know that.
Hopefully, if I ever finish this chapter and the new job goes well, then the following chapter won't take as long (because at least I know what I want to do with that one).
Been thinking of a few different edits to make for Voyager (one for Janeway which I've started, the general idea for putting the characters with Greek gods, etc.)
But now I want to do something for the Tom/B'Elanna/Harry OT3.
Except I have no ideas.
