"Bubble bath" is my attempt at crack Tomione š Tom is trying to find the Chamber of Secrets and he's at the stage where he's found out about a network of pipes that are not on the school blueprints. So he enlists Hermione into checking out the Prefects' bathroom, thinking maybe there's a secret combination of taps š
"or draft" is a Tom POV fic starting from his orphanage days. I thought it'd be interesting to write him as a true, clinical 'sociopath'. Here's a snippet! (I haven't decided whether this'll be Tomione or Tomarry tbh)
Breakfast is served at seven o'clock sharp. The children sit in long rows before Mrs Cole, bleary-eyed and silent. Before they can pick up their spoons, they must first bow their heads and listen to her thank the Lord for this slop (their daily bread).Ā
Instead of closing his eyes, Tom stares at the bowl in front of him. It's always porridge, thick and bland, and right now it's beginning to cool.
"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name ā¦"
Mrs Cole affects a different voice when she says the Lord's Prayer. It's as though she imagines herself standing on a pulpit before a congregation ā men, women and children, sitting stiff and silent in their Sunday best. In reality, she's standing in front of a group of hungry orphans who despise her, in a narrow room filled with worn wooden tables and chairs instead of pews.

His eyes flick up to Mrs Cole for a second before he glances down again. Mrs Cole does not lie when she asks for forgiveness, for guidance, for blessings or what have you. He would know if she does. But is it appropriate to ask for forgiveness with no intention of changing your ways?Ā
Does she ask for forgiveness each time she uncaps the gin bottle? A little whispered prayer before she necks it down, like a gulping fish ā forgive me Lord, for I am about to sin.Ā
No, Tom thinks that's quite unlikely; when you do something you know you shouldn't, often enough, it becomes a part of you.

If Mrs Cole truly has a conscience, he thinks to himself as he picks up his spoon, then she must be a tortured soul.
