HERE’S THE THING THOUGH
I used to work for a call center and I was doing a political survey and I called this number that was randomly generated for me and the way our system worked was voice-activated so when the other person said hello you’d get connected to them, so I just launch right into my “Harvard University and NPR blah blah blah” thing and then there’s this long pause and I think the person’s hung up even though I didn’t hear a click
And then I hear “you shouldn’t be able to call this number.”
So I apologize and go into the preset spiel about because we aren’t selling anything, etc. etc. and the answer I get is
"No, I know that. What I mean is that it should be impossible for you to call this number, and I need to know how you got it."
I explain that it’s randomly generated and I’m very sorry for bothering him, and go to hang up. And before I can click terminate, I hear:
"Ma’am, this is a matter of national security."
I accidentally called the director of the FBI.
My job got investigated because a computer randomly spit out a number to the Pentagon.
Do you really think the director of the FBI would tell a random stranger on the telephone that he is the Director of the FBI?
Next time you get a "tumblr/facebook questionnaire" asking you to work out your porn star name or something, remember this...
Your mother’s maiden name, the name of your first pet, your birthday and the first street you grew up on are usually the same fields used for password security reset questions

HA HOLY SHIT
...Fuck.
The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you’ve said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear.
Stephen King, Different Seasons (via misswallflower)
As if we needed more proof that GoT is garbage, they go and cut Bran Stark because “his story has come to an end.” OH OKAY. So why exactly didn’t they cut Theon out the past 2 seasons? Why haven’t they cut Sansa since her story is at an end as far as the series is concerned? Why didn’t they cut the plethora of added on show fodder for real book material?
Why exactly did they cut out a major POV character, the first POV character, the character who just so happens to be disabled?
Because Bran Stark is a kid who is unable to wield swords, interact with “game players,” participate in cool events like massive CGI fight scenes, etc. Because Bran’s storyline has no space for sexual exploitation of women, no space for unnecessary and unforgivable rape storylines (even though they somehow managed to add this anyways with the rape threats against Meera this past season), and no space for brotastic torture porn, sex scenes, and emphasis on minor characters who have little to no presence in the books.
They didn’t cut Bran because his story is at an end. They’ve proven that they don’t care about adding onto storylines to keep them going or using future TWOW/ADOS material for shock value. They cut Bran because they deemed him insignificant, useless, and boring. They cut him because they don’t care about representation. A disabled kid struggling to survive in a world that’s tried its damndest to break him? Utilizing magic that blurs the lines of reality and morality? Trying to take care of, and lead, a group of his friends through dangerous and life-threatening environments? Fighting to find solace and safety and struggling with the loss of his family? No don’t be fooled, Bran’s story isn’t at an end. D & D never cared enough to tell his story in the first place.
OH SHUT THE FUCK UP, WOULD YOU? NOT EVERYTHING IS A FUCKING SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUE.
