♔ Happy birthday, Julien Baskerville! ♔
Neal Shusterman, Bruiser
♔} To wake seems almost a curious thing for how often does young Julien even fall asleep in the first place? Slumber remains ever restless, and seldom does he find himself refreshed upon opening his eyes come the morn.
The natural sedatives brewed with his tea do little to combat his insomnia.
But never before this moment has he awoken to such an acute pain that he cannot help but gasp softly at the agony throbbing in his side. The young man is quick to discover that merely breathing causes him anguish, and thus he hisses through his teeth at the discomfort his sharp inhale invited.
A slow and laborious lift of his fingers to graze his cheek reveals the presence of bandages, and already he becomes increasingly aware of linens binding his chest.
What transpired this night? I cannot remember...

[...Why a hamster? ;;]
//ooc: Ahhhh yes, but even in my AU shit I can never seem to make Asha happy. Although in the process I now know what happens to Julien because you just told me— which I guess is a good thing(?). And the solemn aspect of Julien is probably the reason my muse seems to be more comfortable around Canon!Julien instead of AU!Julien/Juliette. (Is that bad? I hope it’s not bad. Please don’t hurt me, for I am as frightening as a butterfly trapped on a marshmallow.)
Wait, so the child was also Z’s idea? Ooooooooooh! I thought that was a spur-of-the-moment kinda thing. Whoopsie. DAMNIT Z’S OSWALD STOP BEING ADORABLE, gdfhgdhjdhjhfdjgh.
[Well, that's more or less the Sparknotes version, I suppose. A lot more goes on, particularly in the backstories. Both Julien and AU!Julien/Juliette have the same personality -- in the AU, though, there's more opportunity for happiness and thus (s)he seems to smile and laugh a lot more. (I don't think it's bad? She'd get more or less the same reactions from AU!Julien/Juliette after all, so either or.)]
[Of course. Ships typically are agreed on between two people, after all, and out of politeness, one doesn't really just arbitrarily decide on things without consulting the other party. After all, two people are involved in playing out the ship, so two people ought to agree and figure things out together. That's why one should always credit both people in the ship since the ship wouldn't exist without two individuals to play it.]
