It is happening. It is becoming real. My dream is about to become reality. After all these months (years) of pouring my heart and my work into this book, it is finally published and it comes with a kind of pride that I have not experienced ever before.

“Poetry and the Sea” is a wild mixture of the best poems from my blog and new, exlusive poetry that I haven’t published before. (+ the amazing illustrations by my dad) It has been written in the burning heat of Paris, in Edinburgh’s rain, in subways and on the road and it tells stories of strangers as well as of myself. Thank YOU for being my readers, for supporting me when I felt like giving up, the thought of having my art out in the open scaring me like hell. Without you, my dream would not be possible. I truly hope that some of you will read this book and feel what I felt when I wrote it. Sharing my art with you is what makes me the happiest and by reading it, you’d make me the luckiest person alive. “Hell, how I wish you knew that when we were lying outdoors, under the stars, and our two hearts were beating the same rhythm, they were both yours.”

“With you, it is never about the small things, I guess. You were never just a star out of reach or the centre of a galaxy, an unsteady wave or an outstanding painting; you are the universe itself, the seven seas and a whole museum of art. I would never compare you to a single ray of sunshine; you are the glorious rising, the scenery drowning in gold, broken glass setting fire to the grass. But then again, a single tip of your fingers on my skin is able to evoke a record-breaking earthquake and a grin that does not even last a quarter of a second could burn a hole into my veins. And the most attractive thing about you is the way your chest is heaving when you’re breathing, a sure sign that you are alive.”

For how you can count on them and the way they get so enthusiastic about the things they love? Have you ever watched someone without them noticing and just felt your heart burst of love for everything they do and everything they are, feeling incredibly proud to have them as a friend? Have you ever been in awe due to the feeling of being blessed by the sheer existence of another human being?”

“Writing is actually such a lonely thing to do. Sometimes you spend hours and days just within your own head, without even realizing that you haven’t spoken to a living soul in ages. And from time to time it scares me how much I enjoy to do just that: Get away from everything by spending time with these people in my mind, in worlds I created, with ever purple skies and never fading summer nights.”
