the Abed Study Method!!
pick a character from a show who is a) in school or b) a study nerd
you are now playing this character! go get into costuming, and hair and (optional) makeup!
set up your computer, books, we have to make this look realistic, remember
okay, now ACTION! film/timelapse yourself studying, for about 20 minute periods (we do need to get this scene right, but the other actors and crew need to have a rest for a bit!)
dubbed the abed study method after abed nadir from community, who does boring computer work by pretending hes a character from a movie in a montage
How to study boring topics!
Studying boring topics can be challenging, but with the right approach, you can make the process more manageable and even find it somewhat interesting. Here are some tips:
1. Set Clear Goals: Define specific, achievable goals for your study session. Knowing what you aim to accomplish can make the process more purposeful.
2. Break it Down: Divide the material into smaller, more digestible chunks. Tackling smaller portions at a time can make the overall task seem less overwhelming.
3. Create a Reward System!: Establish a reward system for yourself. After completing a certain portion of the boring material, treat yourself to a short break, a snack, or something enjoyable to keep motivation high.
4. Connect with Real-World Examples: Relate the boring material to real-world examples or scenarios. Making connections can make the content more relevant and interesting.
5.Teach the Material: Pretend you're teaching the material to someone else. This not only reinforces your understanding but also adds an element of engagement to an otherwise dull topic.
6. Use Visual Aids: Create mind maps, diagrams, or charts to visualize the information. Adding a visual component can make the material more engaging and help with memory retention.
7. Alternate Subjects: Switch between studying the boring topic and a more enjoyable one. This way, you can maintain a balance and avoid feeling overwhelmed by one particular subject.
8. Apply Different Study Techniques: Experiment with various study techniques, such as flashcards, summarization, or self-quizzing. Finding the method that works best for you can make the process more interesting.
9. Find the Interesting Angle: Look for aspects of the topic that might be more intriguing. Sometimes, even within a seemingly boring subject, there are elements that can capture your interest.
10. Create a Comfortable Study Environment: Ensure you have a comfortable and well-organized study space. A conducive environment can make it easier to focus on the material.
11. Take Breaks: Break up your study session with short breaks. Stepping away for a few minutes can prevent burnout and help maintain concentration.
Remember, everyone has different preferences and learning styles. Experiment with these tips and tailor them to fit your needs. By approaching boring topics with a positive mindset and strategic study methods, you can make the learning process more tolerable. Share your thoughts and tips in the comments! 💗
Learning styles and personalized studying!

Studying is hard work, but it's all worth it when you finally get the grades you deserve.
ways to heal that you can do at home
these are a series of things that can help you in your healing process. each person works one thing at a time, you can try the one that resonates with you. it is important to add them to our daily routine or to do some of them when we feel bad. this is not a substitute for the healing process that we should do ourselves or therapy, it is only a complement.
healing is in us and we have the capabilities to do it. first, ask yourself and reflect on what it is that you need to heal in your life.
in this post i will focus on free healing methods that any of us can do. there are other methods and alternative therapies.
if you want i can do a more detailed post on how we can heal ourselves.
hope you enjoy and find these methods helpful. i share the methods that i know and have worked for me.
sound therapy: is one of my favorites. on youtube and other music platforms, you can find many songs that contain frequencies that help to heal, raise the vibration, among other things. there are also singing bowls and relaxing sounds of nature. the best frequencies for healing are 432 Hz and 528 Hz. also listening to songs that make you feel good elevates your mood.
meditation: is one of my favorite practices. it has many benefits for both body and mind. one of them is that it helps us to connect with the present moment and through breathing, calm our mind. it also reduces negative emotions and by meditating we can find the answer to what is bothering us. meditating is not difficult, on the contrary, it is the easiest thing in the world, it just needs practice. you can meditate with relaxing music (previous point) or with guided meditation.
positive affirmations: the use of daily positive affirmations helps us to change the negative ideas we have about ourselves replacing them with more positive ones, it also helps us to attract what we want until we can solve any situation. a good way to use them besides the repetition is to listen to them while we sleep at a very low volume so that our subconscious mind absorbs them.
journaling: with a notebook, diary or sheet of paper you can write down how you feel in a moment of anxiety or even when you need to. You can express all your feelings and this is a very good way to release them. you can also use this method to know what are the things that hurt you so you can solve them. you can even create new positive situations by using the "scripting" technique.
spend more time in nature: you can find a natural environment near you (maybe even a park) and sit and contemplate and relax. you don't need to think about anything, just connect with yourself. for example, it helps me a lot to be in the sun, i feel how it recharges me with positive energy. you can also do activities in nature like hiking, this will also help you to focus on other things.
facial massages: this is something you can do with just your hands (and with an oil and cream, of course) there are videos on youtube on how to do it. besides that it helps us to improve our face, increases circulation, and helps prevent signs of aging, it is a technique that can be very relaxing and even therapeutic. you are taking care of yourself which also works on your self-love.
yoga: you don't need to join a yoga class (for now) there are thousands of videos on youtube with free and easy yoga routines for beginners, you can even start with basic stretching. yoga has many benefits and also the movement helps us to release stagnant energy and emotions inside us (that's why some people even cry doing yoga).
aromatherapy: the use of incense, scented candles, and essential oils can help us to relax and feel better. for example sandalwood is an aroma that helps against anxiety and lavender also helps us with anxiety, stress and to relax. find your favorite scent and use it in your meditation or relaxation sessions, you will feel much better.
crystal therapy: ok, this requires the use of crystals but i have added it here because it is not as expensive as reiki or acupuncture sessions. research on which crystals can help you with your situation and get them. you can hold them close to you, hold them in your hands or put them on your body and relax. i love this and it has helped me a lot and made me feel better.
other tips you need for your healing process: find a daily routine that you are comfortable and happy with, practice daily exercise and eat nutritious and healthy food. fresh vegetables and fruits help to raise your vibration and make you feel better inside and out. i can do an article on foods that help us with this.
stoic ideas that will improve your life
✨ what is stoicism? stoicism is a philosophy that seeks to cultivate virtue, reason, and mindfulness through our will and discipline. practicing stoicism means accepting reality as it is without trying to change it. it means accepting that we cannot control everything in our lives, but that we can control how we react to the things that happen around us.
✨ some benefits
improvement of our mental health.
increased ability to concentrate, and clarity of thought.
better self-control to resist the desire and distractions of others.
✨ stoic ideas to improve your life
live in the present moment, do not leave anything for later. value what you have, and take care of your company.
recognize your mistakes. work on your areas of improvement. making mistakes is not important, it is important to rectify them, look for solutions and work on continuous improvement, learn from each mistake made.
we humans are not so different, we share feelings and emotions. we are all part of the same essence. practicing empathy is healthy.
nothing is good or bad. the important thing is not what happens to us, which is inevitable and neutral, but how we interpret and deal with each situation. it is a matter of perspective. what happens is right. the important thing is to understand, using reason, to find out what we can do and to accept without resistance what does not depend on us.
anything can happen, but if it hasn't happened, don't get ahead of yourself and don't anticipate pain that may not come.
writing a diary. according to the stoics, it is a good habit to dedicate some time each day to reflect in writing, which helps to reflect on the actions of each day and to be more vigilant with ourselves.
contact with nature. breathing fresh air, walking in the environment, enjoying the outdoors and getting in touch with ourselves is an effective way to quiet the mind.
work every day, build slowly. don't procrastinate.
we need very little. we have much more than we need, we do and say more than we need to. it would be good to question this, we would have more time for what is essential and more peace of mind. eliminate what is not necessary.
just because things don't go your way doesn't mean they go wrong. find a learning experience in every experience you think is negative. in reality, it is not. the negative is your attitude and you can change it. don't waste your experiences.
i am learning about this philosophy and many others. the smart thing to do is to keep what we can apply to our life to improve it. if there is something you don't agree with, discard it and keep what resonates with you.
be your best version before 2024
i have come up with a kind of challenge to become our best version before the end of the year.
with this habit we are going to implement healthier habits in our lives and abandon those that are not benefiting us, also get to know ourselves better and manifest our desires or goals for the next year.
the challenge has a duration of 21 days but obviously after that we have to continue with this healthy lifestyle that we have created.
- habits to implement on a daily basis
drink two liters of water a day (recommended for physical and mental health).
movement (training at home, at the gym, going for a walk, running, yoga, pilates, any activity that allows you to exercise your body)
commit yourself to one habit during these 21 days, for example journaling.
choose a meditation on something you want to improve in your life, it can be self-love, relationships, economic abundance, health and do it daily (i recommend before going to sleep) during all the days of the challenge.
also choose a video of affirmations, a subliminal, mantra that has to do with the meditation you chose and listen to it at least once a day and if you can more, whenever you feel like it.
print, make or buy a calendar to keep track of this challenge and mark the days you met, if you miss one, start again, propose it.
go to bed an hour earlier than you usually go to bed and get up half an hour earlier than you usually get up.
- habits you need to start replacing now
screen time, stop being so much connected to social media and do something outside or even at home but you don't have to use your phone.
in any social media, stop following 10 accounts that you think are "hurting" you and in turn follow 5 new ones that you think will help you in your personal growth and development or at least inspire you something positive, the time you are going to use social media at least see things that nourish you.
stop worrying, when a problem or difficulty of any kind comes up, write in a journal how you feel, do a meditation or anything else that keeps you focused on something other than the problem, if necessary you can feel the anger or sadness, but don't get stuck in those thoughts.
instead of spending time watching tv or any streaming platform, read a book or listen to a spiritual/personal growth podcast.
- journaling ideas
during these days you can write in your diary these kinds of things:
how you would like your year 2024 to be.
all your goals for the next year.
how you would like your best version of yourself to be from now on.
an extraordinary event that you would like to happen before the end of this year.
a letter of forgiveness to someone who hurt you (it can be yourself too).
a list of 10 things you would do or would like to happen to you if you believe that everything is possible for you.
list of books you want to read from now and this 2024
a mantra or affirmation that you will write daily every morning for the next 21 days. write one that comes to mind or one that resonates with you.
- how to do the challenge?
organize your day to implement the habits i mentioned at the beginning such as exercise, journaling, drinking the two liters of water, doing the meditation you chose, listening to the affirmations you chose.
if one day you don't do any of these things, propose to start again from day 1.
you don't have to exercise daily either, if you are just starting out it can be 3 or 4 days but for example the other days go for a walk or do a stretching routine.
what i have proposed are small habits that can be done daily and complement the routine you have right now, you can do it and after those 21 days you will see a significant change in your life.
this challenge is just a kind of game to make it more fun and have more motivation to implement these habits in your day and start doing it now and not when the year begins. that your best version does not wait any longer to come to light.
and i hope you tell me how it went 🤍

environment declutter: clean bedroom/bathroom/kitchen and throw out what I don't need
finances: start being financially literate and use my income and expense tracker
reflection of 2023: what went well? what didn't?
