Stylish Givenchy Angry Dog T-Shirt

Good Evening POOCHI & TOUTOU followers, we hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, we know we did. Anyway,  while looking around for some hot new products for the upcoming spring season I came across a fashion line called Givenchy. Givenchy has a cosmetic line, and a line for men and woman. Products by Givenchy can be found in Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys and Sephora. They have products such as shoes, shirts, bags and more. However, one product that I saw hitting the streets of LA and New York is a shirt with an angry dog on it. YES, an angry dog is the graphic on this T-shirt. The graphic Design Givenchy decided to use was genius. It makes the shirt wearable for men and women. Many celebrities are rocking this T-shirt at many events. It’s not an average shirt that you would see on a daily basis. The price of this shirt ranges from about $200-$500 depending on which store you decide to buy it from. Modern Dog Bowl

Hey POOCHI & TOUTOU followers! I have this great product that came across my attention. It is a modern dog bowl made by a Thai company. The price of this product is about $100. What caught my eye about this product is the design of it. It’s very modern and it has a sleek look to it. The bowl shaped as a dogs face makes it appealing and the sealing of the food, with a lid that opens and closes’, makes it mess free. It holds about 1.7 liters of food and the lid prevents any bacteria or bugs from going into your pet’s food. The handle along with this product makes it easy to carry around or bring to vacation if your pet comes along with you. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2013

So although Fashion Week was delayed due to the Snow Storm on NYC, the show still went on. Designers such as MATHIEU MIRANO , JILL STUART ,CARMEN MARC VALVO and NICHOLAS K showed off their new fall collections for 2013. We loved the styles we saw this year. The color pantone this upcoming fall 2013 season included colors such as emerald, carafe, koi, linden green, and turbulence. My favorite color expected for fall 2013 is emerald. I feel emerald is such a classy and sophisticated color that can look great on t-shirts, blouses, and dresses. I noticed that many designers are incorporating shades of black with a cream white on a lot of their designs. Some even included a washed up look, however I think that look no longer works on the runway. Below are some of the looks that caught my eye so far. It's the Dogs Life Cupcake

As I was brainstorming a new topic to blog about this week my eye was caught by some crafty cupcakes on a blog called It's the Dogs Life. These cupcakes are made with candy clay, gumpaste and fondant. Fondant is a thick, creamy sugar paste that is the basis of many candies. Fondant is popularly used in many bakeries across the country. With these cupcakes, the make Saint Lover did a marvelous job with the details on the dogs. We love the design on this cupcake and wish we could get a try! Who said studs can't be rocked by our pets?

As a big shopper, I love the direction fashion has been moving recently. Many sweaters, t-shirts, and blouses have been standing out with studs on the collars or sleeves. It kind of reminds me of the style that was presented during the 80′s. Everything is becoming vintage for everyone. Also, the ombre styled colored shirts are making a comeback which I love. However, I would like to see studs and ombre styled colored T-shirts come out for pets. It would be fabulous to have my pet rock a studded shirt along with me. Pet fashion is moving forward as we speak, so why not make this popular trend with human fashion with pet fashion. Also, along with studded tops, ombre colored styled articles of clothing would be something different to see being worn by pets. It would make pet clothing reach an all new level of fashion. Who know’s, maybe pet fashion will be included in fashion week across the globe.

Cold Weather Safety for your Little Loved One

Happy Holidays to everyone ! We hope everyone is enjoying their Holidays so far. Also, congratulations to all of our college customers on getting through a rough week of finals. Now that it is hitting the end of December that means that the cold weather will begin to kick in with January approaching. We want to make sure you are keeping your pup as warm as you when stepping outside. Here are some safety tips for this winter weather:

1. Do not leave you pet unsupervised outside wither a shelter with heat. Although, your pets fur may be warm, it doesn't mean that your pet is actually warm. Fur is not enough for your pet to survive the cold. In conclusion, make sure there is some sort of heated shelter and or bed accessible to your dog.

2. Smaller pups or pets with little to no hair should have a sweater to wear when stepping outside.

3.  Watch your pups feet! Socks or maybe booties would be best for your pup when walking in the snow and also it would prevent them from slipping.

4. If using an indoor or outdoor fir pit make sure there is a safe guard around it at all times.

5. If your pet is in the cold and begins to shiver, immediately bring him or her inside.

6. Avoid letting your pet eat snow. There may be objects or chemicals that can get your dog sick.

NYC Fashion Week 2012

Yesterday marked the first day of New York City's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week .What does this mean for New Yorkers? Traffic, a lot of it, however, it also creates a happy vibe for fashion lovers in NYC. Everyone starts to pull out their favorite outfit from their closets and begin to call their friends to ask them " What will you be wearing to Fashions Night Out and to Michael Kors' runway show"? Even though POOCHI & TOUTOU is a dog fashion line, we also go crazy for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Reading about the colors and styles on top designers runway shows help us determine future styles for your pets. We want your pet to look equally as fabulous as you. Back to School: Dog Edition

It has come across my attention that people question if they should put their dog in school when their children go back. Many question if it would be a good or bad thing to do. However, it might be the smartest thing to do. Signing up your dog for school has many advantages such as, boredom prevention, obedience training, and quality one-on-one time.

When the back to school season starts, dogs are home bored. Children are at school from eight in the morning to three o’clock in the afternoon and parents are at work worried about their children and pet. Many pet owners fear that their pet will destroy their house when they aren’t home to watch them. Dog school prevents the worrying. By putting your pet in school, your pet will be active all day long with activities. This will stop you from worrying so much and may help you focus more on your work. Putting your dog into school would also teach your dog more obedience skills. This will save you the trouble of teaching your dog obedience the wrong way. Schools encourage you to come along for obedience lessons so you too can learn the secrets behind dog training. Vitamins for Pets

Many owners question if they should give their pet vitamins. The answer to their questions is, yes, vitamins are great to give and have many positive attributes. Vitamins can improve your pets life. Protecting Your Pet from the Sun

The sun is beginning to heat up and that means it is time to protect your self from the sun. However not also must you protect yourself but it is advised by veterinarians to protect your dog too from the sun. If your pet is getting a hair cut often or have thin hair then they too can be harmed the the sun’s sun rays. POOCHI & TOUTOU is here to give you tips regarding to protecting your pet from the heat. One of the best ways to protect your pet from the sun is by providing shade. Providing shade will not only protect you but it will also protect your dog. A nice shade will prevent any heat strokes and any forms of skin cancer. Also, while providing shade a bowl of water would be great. You don’t want your pet to dehydrate. Sunblock would also be an addition to one of the best ways to protect your pet from the sun. The best sun block to use is sunblock for babies. Baby sunblock doesn’t contain toxins. However, make sure your pet doesn’t lick him or her self after it is applied. However, there is only one FDA approved sunblock for pets and that is called Epi-Pet Sun Protector. The sun block should be applied to soft areas such as the ears, nose, belly, and groin area. Always consult with a veterinarian before considering using any sunblock. When dressing your pet on hot days it is suggested that they do not wear any dark colors. Just like humans, dark colors attract the heat. As a result, lights colors such as white would be the best color for your pet to be dressed in. You could also cover your pet in a white t-shirt or a sun protection suit.

A Heart Melting Story

Today as I was reading through People Magazine’s pet section I came across an article that touched my heart. A cheetah at the age of 5 named Ally gave birth to a cheetah cub in April and abandoned it. However, one month late veterinarians from the Virginia’s Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute performed a Cesarian section to save the other three cubs. This procedure performed rarely on cheetahs. Only one of the three cubs were saved. The remaining cub is with the mother cheetah at Washington, D.C.’s National Zoo.  This was such a touching story because even though the c-section is rare to perform on cheetahs, the veterinarians performed it anyway just to save the cubs. The doctors really have a heart for all animals and it is such a pleasure to hear at least one of the cubs were able to survive the procedure.

Spring, Summer, Dating, and Dog…

It’s getting warmer and warmer here in New York City. And one thing you will notice for sure in the spring weather is more couple getting lovey dovey on streets, in the parks holding hands and smooching. ;P

If you’ve already found your partner- GREAT! don’t forget include your doggie on those park stroll dates, outdoor dining, and maybe camping trips. =)

And if you haven’t found a date yet, then now is the time to go out and explore! And I mean that with sincerity! XD  A trend I’ve noticed lately among my friends is the use of dating sites! Many of them have found great partners or just fun dates from those dating sites likesmatch.com, okcupid etc. Also a good thing for us pet lovers is that you can see if the other person like dogs or cats! This way you can quickly eliminate those who are out of the circle. So… do a quick sign up if you’re bored this summer and who knows, maybe you’ll findthe one.

On the other hand, for those we are already dating but having a problem with your partner because of the pet- word of advice: dump the partner if your pet really can’t get along with him/her. I’ve heard many stories of people asking, “what do I do if my dog hates my girlfriend / boyfriend?” or vice verse. There might be some time requirement for your pet and partner to get along in the beginning; but if the problem still exists after few months, then you might as well look else where. Pets often have the 6th/7th sense and they can tell if a person is good or evil from the guts. If your dog is barking non-stop towards your partner every time they meet, then it’s proof that he/she is just not right for you. Follow your pet’s instinct and you won’t regret! The good and new won’t come until you get rid of the old and bad. =)
