April 16th, 2019:

Today turned out even better than I expected. Woke up and took the pups outside, and I could tell it was already starting to warm up. Fed them, took a shower, and snuggled with D.J. 🥰 My parents got home early from the school they were working, so I took the doggos back out and my mom and I sat in the sunshine with them while they explored the yard 🌞

Then I washed my massage sheets, emptied my car of all my dental equipment, and loaded up my massage table and gear for the housecall for my two coworkers at 7. Got a call from Tony and he came over after his work and we had some lunch, snuggled the pups, and watched some Queer Eye and The Office while D.J. took a nap on Tony’s chest — seriously the CUTEST thing ever, she just climbed onto his shoulder and fell asleep immediately nestled into his neck 😭😍 there are few things more attractive than when dogs love and trust the person you love and trust.

I got a text around 4:30 from George saying they were having the first sand volleyball game of the season, and I got SUUUPER bummed because I had my housecall that wouldn’t be done til 10 and have been craving and missing our sand volleyball games so much lately.

I sucked it up and got ready to head to Melat’s house, and right as I was leaving I got a text from Guadalupe that her car was in the shop and she couldn’t make it. I offered to do the housecall Friday night instead since it’s a hassle to move the table more than necessary and they said that works great 👍🏼

So I ended up being able to go to volleyball anyway and surprise everyone, and the happiness and excitement on all my friends’ faces totally made my day! I hadn’t seen most of them since last summer; I didn’t even realize just how much I missed our games and all the laughter and teamwork and support that these nights involve. There was a subtle, brief, yet beautiful sunset too 🙏🏼 We ended up playing for over 3 hours even though our feet were going numb from the cold, wet sand, and when I got home I got a text from George saying he was glad I could make it and that they missed me too.

Ahhh today was so much fun and I’m so grateful for all of the awesomeness of today – especially cute puppies, my wonderful boyfriend, and my great friends where even though it’s been 7 months it feels like no time has passed at all since I’ve seen them.
