Elizabeth looks out a window at the scene below: even through the fog, multiple fires are visible, and ships burn in the harbor. Shouts and cries of pain. Cannon fire ECHOES.
Jack and Barbossa walk toward it. Pintel and Ragetti hustle past them toward the KRAKEN. It lies dead on the shore. Pintel finds a driftwood stick, pokes it.
Norrington holds the Key. Will plucks it away as he passes.
The Black Pearl lies at anchor, closer now to the islet.
SAO FENG: There is a price on all our heads, it is true. It seems the only way a pirate can turn a profit anymore ... (he regards Will) ... is by betraying other pirates.
GIBBS: Counting those four? That gives us four. (low) I've written a letter to my brother-in-law. He's a lawyer in London. Good one. Nothing better happen to me.
ELIZABETH: Nothing ... it's nothing. Just … I'm reminded of a song I learned as a child. A song about pirates.
A PIRATE CABIN BOY stands on the gallows. A noose is fitted around his neck. Among the PIRATES in line, a TUNE begins, hummed low.
BELLAMY: To your duties, then; and if there is a stowaway, and 'tis a woman, I don't see as a naked one's likely to escape notice, aye?
Pintel grins. Grabs her by the wrist. She turns her head away, shuts her eyes.
CLOSE ON: ELIZABETH'S EYES ... she opens them slowly, sees: The Flying Dutchman, bound for the sunset. Will is gone. She turns ....
Jack, the 'P' brand visible on his wrist, holds the Compass. He doesn't like what he sees. He closes the lid, shakes it ... sneaks the lid open. Still not to his liking.
JACK: I know those guns!
Nearby are several SMOOTH ROUND STONES. Jack picks one up and FLINGS it, skipping it across the sand. Jack sits down. Looks over. Weirdly, the stone comes rolling back.
Jack compresses the bellows, blowing a SHOWER OF SPARKS into Will's face. Jack grabs the chain, hoists himself up, kicks with his feet, knocking Will back.
Will is outside the cell, a Guard in the background. Swann stands discretely back, but listening in.
