It was one of the darkest moments in her life thus far.
All she felt was broken, torn, unworthy, unnecessary, unwanted, replaced, removed.
Even with the words in black and white before her, she believed herself unloved. For who would ever love this horrid thing she calls ‘herself?’
Many have said they had. Many meant it for a moment. Something always took her place. Something was always there to remind her she was not enough. She never would be.
Her glow was dim, barely the shimmer of a star at the end of the universe glanced at by the naked eye. Her world was dark and she was so very afraid of the darkness.
So she decided to build walls, a tiny safe space. Small enough that her faint glow was enough to survive by.
There she will hide until the day she can once again shine in the vast black universe. There she will stay, working to make herself someone worth more. Someone worth something.
